Franklin Daniel "Dan" Watts Jr.

Franklin Daniel "Dan" Watts Jr., 78, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County in Rock Springs, Wyoming. He was a resident of Superior, Wyoming for the past 25 years and former resident of Arkansas. Mr. Watts died following a lengthy illness.

He was born on October 20, 1943 in Malvern, Arkansas; the son of Frank Watts and Martha Belle McHenry.

Dan attended schools in Arkansas and Nevada. He was a 1961 graduate of Rancho High School in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He married Brenda Bowdle on May 25, 1973 in Malvern, Arkansas.

He worked in Wyoming for five years as a Police Officer. Dan was a Fireman; Emergency Medical Technician; Police Officer and an instructor for Emergency Medical Technicians.

Dan was a United States Army Veteran having served during Vietnam. He was a Green Beret in Special Forces.

He loved spending time with family. He enjoyed hunting; fishing; scuba diving and camping.

Survivors include his wife Brenda "B.J." Watts of Superior, Wyoming; two sons, Danny Ray Watts and wife Frances of Green River, Wyoming; Bob Watts of Superior, Wyoming; three daughters, Phyllis Creighton and husband Jerry of Green River, Wyoming; Mary Dana Asher of Green River, Wyoming; Monica Mitchell and husband Skylar of Montrose, Colorado; two sisters, Mary Jane Davidson of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Susie Cook and husband Ted of Green River, Wyoming; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; cousins; nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Lisa Morgan; two brothers, Phil Watts; Mike Watts.

Cremation has taken place; a Memorial Service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday July 16th at Marskey Park in Superior, Wyoming.
