Green River Police Department reports for June 19

At 9:40 a.m., officers responded to a report of an individual with an active warrant. Officers made contact with the individual and confirmed the warrant. Officers placed Gene Pierce, 55, of Green River, under arrest per the active warrant. Officers transported Pierce to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to. 

At 4:22 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual with an active warrant. Officers made contact with the individual and confirmed the warrant. Officers placed Sarah Newey, 40, of Green River, under arrest per the active warrant. Officers transported Newey to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to. 

June 20

At 12:06 a.m., officers responded to a report of a dog bite on Shoshone Avenue. Officers met with the victim who was bitten by their own dog. The dog was not current on vaccinations and it was transported to the Green River Animal Shelter for quarantine without incident. Officers completed a report of the incident.

June 22

At 8:22 a.m., officers responded to a report of a dog that had ran into the road and into a passing vehicle on East Flaming Gorge Way. Officers met with the driver of the vehicle and the owner of the dog. The dog had no injuries and there was no damage to the vehicle. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 11:19 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Officers made contact with one of the parties who had departed from the area. The individual advised the disturbance was a verbal argument only and that the parties were going to stay separated for the evening. Officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 8:56 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual with an active arrest and hold order. Officers made contact with the individual and placed Bryan Merrick, 42, of Rock Springs, under arrest per the arrest and hold. Officers transported Merrick to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 9:46 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance at Iowa Avenue and West Virginia Place. Upon arrival the disturbance had ended and all parties had been separated. Officers spoke with the individuals involved and gathered their statements. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 11:43 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Monroe Avenue. Officers met with one of the parties who advised it was a verbal argument and the other party had departed. Officers gathered the reporting party’s statement and completed a report of the incident.

June 23

At 11:59 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was traveling west on Monroe Avenue and attempted to turn left onto West Teton Boulevard, where a second vehicle was stopped at the intersection. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:32 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Cumorah Way. Officers met with individuals involved in a verbal dispute, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 5:21 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was traveling south on East Teton Boulevard behind a second vehicle. As the second vehicle slowed to pull into a driveway, the first vehicle struck the rear passenger side of the second vehicle. Officers issued the driver of the first vehicle, Veronica Skala, of Green River, a citation for alleged inattentive driving and completed a report of the incident.

At 6:43 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a motorcycle driving at a high rate of speed on Homestead Drive. Officers made contact with the driver, who was driving on a suspended driver’s license. Officers issued citations for alleged DWUS 2nd offense; compulsory auto insurance violation; and valid certificate of title, certificate of registration and license plates required violation and placed Charles Bozner, of Green River, under arrest and transported Bozner to the Sweetwater County Detention Center. Officers completed a report of the incident.
