Green River Police Department reports for May 16
At 2:50 a.m., officers observed individuals walking on Iowa Avenue that were believed to be juveniles. Officers made contact with the individuals and ascertained they were not in violation of curfew, but one of the individuals was found to have two active Sweetwater County warrants and a non-extraditable warrant out of Florida. Officers placed Tylor Stewart under arrest per the active warrants and transported Stewart to the Sweetwater County Detention Center. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 9:56 a.m., officers responded to a report of a burglary on West Flaming Gorge Way. Officers met with an individual who reported finding their gate open and damaged. No monetary losses were reported. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 7:40 p.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny at Michigan Court. Officers met with an individual who reported fraudulent charges on their credit card. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
May 17
At 8:43 a.m., officers responded to a report of property damage on Schultz Street. Officers met with an individual who reported finding damage to the mirror on their vehicle. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 3:35 p.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny on Idaho Street. Officers met with an individual who reported a missing or stolen package containing prescription medications. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 6:34 p.m., officers responded to a report of an animal bite on South Riverbend Drive. It was reported a juvenile was bitten by a stray dog while riding their scooter. Officers attempted to located the dog and gathered information. Report to follow.
At 11:10 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in a physical altercation. Officers gathered information and subsequently placed William Haymon, of Green River, under arrest for alleged domestic battery - 1st offense. Officers transported Haymon to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
May 18
At 4:01 p.m., officers responded to a report of a violation of a protection order on East 4th South Street. Officers met with the reporting party as well as the suspect and gathered their statements. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 4:34 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual with an active warrant reported at the Probation and Parole office. Officers met with the individual and placed Joseph Campbell, 43, of Rock Springs, under arrest per the arrest and hold order. Officers transported Campbell to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.
At 5:11 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stolen bicycle on Idaho Street. Officers gathered information about the stolen item from the reporting party and completed a report of the incident.
At 5:17 p.m., officers responded to a report of trespassing on East Flaming Gorge Way. Officers met with the reporting party who advised they had a person come into their business and that they would like them to be trespassed. Officers met with the individual and issued them the trespass warning. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 7:15 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of Uinta Drive and East Flaming Gorge Way and issued the driver, Preston Bartlett, 21, of Green River, a citation for alleged expired temporary license.
May 19
At 2 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual with an active warrant reported at the Probation office. Officers met with agents and the individual, confirmed the warrant, and placed Savannah Wilson, of Rock Springs, under arrest per the active warrant. Officers transported Wilson to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.
At 8:05 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual banging on the door of a residence on Cumorah Way. Officers met with the individual, gathered information, and subsequently issued citations then placed Adrian Bodney, of Green River, under arrest for alleged disturbing the peace and public intoxication. Officers transported Bodney to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.
May 20
At 10:16 a.m., officers responded to a report of a fraud on Mississippi Street. Officers met with the reporting party who advised they were sent a check for an item they were selling and the check bounced. Officers gathered the information and completed a report of the incident.
At 10:47 a.m., officers responded to a report of a scam on Mississippi Street. The reporting person advised they had electronically sent money to a person who was responding to a for sale ad the reporting person had posted. Officers gathered the information and completed a report of the incident.
At 12:09 p.m., officers responded to a report of an unattended vehicle that was impeding traffic at the intersection of Astle Avenue and Uinta Drive. Officers were unable to locate the owner and the vehicle was towed to a safe location. Officers completed a report of the incident.
May 21
At 1:43 a.m., officers observed a juvenile out walking past curfew hours. Officers made contact with the individual and issued the juvenile, 14, of Green River, a citation for alleged curfew violation. Officers released the juvenile to their parents and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers respond to.
At 2:36 p.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run on North 1st East Street. Officers were able to identify the suspect, a juvenile, 16, of Green River, and issued them a citation for alleged hit and run - unattended property. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 5:42 p.m., officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. Officers met with both parties who advised they had been arguing. The parties were separated without further issues and officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers respond to.
At 6:01 p.m., officers responded to a report of found property at Collier Roosevelt Park. Officers met with the reporting person who advised they had found a set of keys at the park. Officers attempted to locate an owner but were unsuccessful. Officers booked in the keys for safekeeping and completed a report of the incident.
At 9:11 p.m., officers responded to a report of a verbal disturbance at the Loaf N Jug on East Flaming Gorge Way. The reporting person advised that they were putting gas into their vehicle when they noticed that the keys were missing from the vehicle. The reporting party stated that they knew who had taken the keys and they had gotten into an argument and the other party had fled the scene. Officers attempted to locate the other party, but were unsuccessful at the time of the report. Officers completed a report of the incident.
May 22
At 1:22 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of East Flaming Gorge Way and Uinta Drive and issued the driver, Cody Phelps, 18, of Pinedale a citation for alleged speed - generally.
At 7:05 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Evans Street. Officers were advised that there was a person outside screaming and yelling. Officers met with the individual and were able to calm them down. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 9 a.m., officers responded to a report of illegal dumping on Telephone Canyon Road. Officers observed several bags of trash that had been left along the road. Officers took photos of the trash and attempted to locate a possible suspect. Officers completed a report of the incident and were unable to locate a suspect at the time of the report.
At 10:28 a.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism at Expedition Island. Officers observed several areas that had been spray painted in and around the building. Officers took photos and completed a report of the incident. No suspects have been identified at this time.
At 11:01 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued the driver, Brian Raymundo Sandoval Varela, 24, of Green River, citations for alleged expired vehicle registration and no valid driver’s license.
At 11:53 a.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism on Idaho Street. Officers met with the reporting party who advised their boat had been intentionally scratched. Officers observed the damage and took photos. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 6:05 p.m., officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute. Officers met with the reporting parties who advised they had been arguing and were going to separate for the evening. Officers conducted a civil standby while the parties separated and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
At 8:51 p.m., officers responded to a report of juveniles throwing rocks at residences on Honor Way. Officers met with the reporting party who advised they witnessed a group of juveniles throwing rocks at their residence as well as others in the neighborhood. Officers located the juveniles who stated they did not intentionally throw towards the houses. Officers released the juveniles to their parents and completed a report of the incident.
May 23
At 7:51 a.m., officers met with a suspicious subject outside of a school building. Officers spoke with the individual and discovered that the individual had an active warrant. Officers placed Tony Barnson, 37, of Green River, under arrest per the active warrant. Officers transported Barson to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
At 11 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two vehicle crash on Moran Drive. The driver of the first vehicle stated that as they were backing out of their driveway, they backed into a parked and unoccupied vehicle. Officers observed the damage to both vehicles and completed a report of the incident.
At 2:26 p.m., officers responded to a report of juveniles throwing rocks at a vehicle at the Underpass. Officers made contact with the juveniles and observed damage to the vehicle. Both juveniles, 14, of Green River, were issued citations for alleged malicious mischief. Both juveniles were released to their parents and officers completed a report of the incident.
At 3:56 p.m., officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. The involved parties advised they had been arguing but that everything was okay upon officers arrival. They advised they would be okay staying in the home together for the rest of the night and there would be no further issues. Officers completed a report of the incident. At 4:33 p.m., officers responded to a report of accidental property damage at Green River High School. Officers observed damage to a vehicle consisting of a broken windshield. It was determined the damage was likely caused by a lawnmower throwing a rock into the windshield. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 9 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Hitching Post Drive and issued the driver, Lacy Miller Rudolph, 40, of Green River, a citation for alleged stop sign violation.
At 9:44 p.m., officers responded to a report of barking dogs on Hackberry Street. Upon arrival officers heard the dogs barking and attempted to make contact with an owner. Officers were able to contact an owner who responded to the house and brought the dogs in the house with no further issues. Officers completed a report of the incident.
May 24
At 1:49 a.m., officers observed two juveniles in violation of curfew. Officers met with both juveniles and issued both, 17, of Green River, citations for curfew violations. Officers released the juveniles to their parents and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
