Green River Police Department reports for April 17

At 11:40 a.m., officers responded to a report of trespassing at Club 86 Lounge and Liquor. Officers met with staff who requested to have two individuals trespassed from the property. Officers attempted to locate the individuals, later met with one of the individuals who had returned to the establishment, escorted them from the property, issued the trespass warning, and completed a report of the incident.

April 18

At 3:11 a.m., officers observed an individual believed to have an active warrant at Maverick. Officers confirmed the warrant and made contact with the individual. Alex Holcomb, of Green River, was placed under arrest per the active warrant. Officers transported Holcomb to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

April 19

At 4:49 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident on Schultz Street. It was reported one vehicle was traveling west bound on Schultz Street when the vehicle drifted and the front passenger side bumper of the vehicle made contact with the rear driver side bumper of another vehicle, which was parked an unoccupied. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 6:31 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with an individual who reported a verbal dispute. Officers attempted to locate the other involved party, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

April 20

At 11:24 a.m., officers responded to a report of two students using tobacco products at Green River High School. Officers met with school administration, the juveniles and their parents or guardians. Officers gathered information, issued a citation for alleged unlawful possession or use of tobacco products by a minor to a juvenile, 17, of Green River, and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:41 p.m., officers responded to a report of a nuisance property at Hitching Post Drive. Officers observed the property to be in violation of City ordinance and attempted to make contact with the owner. Officers posted a notice and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:12 p.m., officers responded to a report of fraud at Club 86. Officers met with the staff who reported receiving a counterfeit $5 bill. Officers gathered information, collected the counterfeit money, and completed a report of the incident.

At 5:28 p.m., officers responded to a report of an animal bite at Church View Drive. Officers located the dog, impounded the dog, and transported the dog to the animal shelter. Report to follow.

At 8:51 p.m., officers responded to a report of a crash at the Ponderosa Bar and Lounge. It was reported a vehicle was backing out of a parking space and struck a second vehicle, which was parked and unoccupied. Officers met with the driver, who was found to be intoxicated, and subsequently issued citations for alleged inattentive driving with a crash and DWUI of alcohol .08 or greater, and placed the driver under arrest. Officers transported Melanie Schmeiser, of Green River, to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

April 21

At 3:24 a.m., officers responded with EMS for a report of an unresponsive individual on Summer View Drive. The individual was transported by ambulance and officers completed a report of the incident.

At 6:33 a.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny on Mansface Street. Officers met with an individual who reported that a family member had taken their wallet. The wallet was located and monetary losses were reported. Officers met with the suspected individual, took statements, and issued a trespass warning at the request of the property owner. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 7:35 a.m., officers responded to a report of a barking dog complaint on Schultz Street. Officers arrived in the area and located the barking dogs. Officers attempted to contact an owner, gathered information, completed a report and forwarded it to the City Prosecutor.

At 9:38 a.m., officers responded to a report of an individual going through trash cans in the area of West 3rd South street. Officers arrived in the area and observed the suspected individual attempting to open the rear passenger car door on a vehicle. Officers made contact with the individual, gathered information, and subsequently placed Pamela Nemetz, of Green River, under arrest for alleged criminal entry. Officers transported Nemetz to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 12:04 p.m., officers responded to a report of a citizen assist on West 2nd South Street. Officers met with an individual who reported a fraudulent unemployment claim. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

April 22

At 2:24 p.m., officers responded to a report of an agency assist for an unconscious individual. Officers and EMS determined the individual was deceased. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. No suspicious circumstances are suspected. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 4:44 p.m., officers responded to a report of fraud on Iowa Avenue. Officers met with an individual who reported that an account had been opened up in their name and purchases had been made. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 5:57 p.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run collision on Wilderness Trail. Officers met with an individual who reported finding damage to their vehicle that had been parked and unoccupied on the side of the roadway. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 6:07 p.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny on Jensen Street. Officers met with an individual who reported items had been taken from a shed on their property. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

April 23

At 5:19 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Monroe Avenue and East Teton Boulevard and issued the driver, a juvenile, 17, of Green River, a citation for alleged no valid driver’s license or violation of driver’s license conditions.

At 5:55 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of East Flaming Gorge Way and Uinta Drive and issued the driver Renetta Deboer, of Green River, a citation for alleged speeding.

At 10:59 a.m., officers responded to a report of a citizen assist on West Railroad Avenue. Officers met with an individual who reported their truck was currently under a mechanic’s care and believed there may be issues with the service. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:46 a.m., officers responded to a report of property damage on Mississippi Street. Officers met with an individual who reported that their pickup truck had been damaged by an unknown person. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

April 24

At 2:56 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Bridger Drive and issued the driver, Joshua Mendoza, of Texas, a citation for alleged speeding.

At 4:25 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at mile marker 91 on Interstate 80 eastbound and issued the driver, Kimberly Malm, of Green River, a citation for alleged obedience to traffic control device violation.

At 4:53 a.m., officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Monroe Avenue. Officers were advised by a representative from Enterprise rental car company that a stolen vehicle could possibly be located in Green River. Officers located the vehicle and notified the company. The car was towed and later officers were able to make contact with the individual who had rented the vehicle, but failed to return it. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:50 a.m., officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Sunset Street. Officers met with an individual who reported they had lent the vehicle to an individual who had not returned it. Officers located the vehicle and notified the owner. Officers gathered information, determined it to be a civil matter, and completed a report of the incident.

April 25

At 10:02 a.m., officers responded to an emergency school safety drill at Green River High School. The HOLD drill was completed successfully.

At 10:10 a.m., officers responded to an emergency school safety drill at Harrison Elementary School. The FIRE drill was completed successfully.

At 3:31 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disoriented individual at the Loaf N Jug on Bridger Drive. Officers met with an individual sitting outside of the store refusing to leave and detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from their breath. Officers subsequently issued a citation for alleged public intoxication and placed Fred Truxell, of Green River, under arrest. Officers transported Truxell to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:49 p.m., officers responded to a report of a scam reported at the GRPD office. Officers met with an individual who reported a fraudulent charge account had been opened in their name. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:54 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Upland Way and Pheasant Drive and issued the driver, a juvenile, 17, of Green River, a citation for alleged no valid driver’s license or violation of driver’s license conditions.

At 10:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of a violation of protection order. Officers met with individuals who reported receiving a message from an individual they have an active protection order against. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
