Green River Police Department reports for March 4

At 7:11 p.m., officers responded to a report of a REDDI (Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately) at the intersection of Uinta Drive and East Flaming Gorge Way. Upon arrival in the area officers located the vehicle unoccupied but were able to identify the owner. Officers then located the owner on foot and met with the individual. Officers detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from their breath, and subsequently issued Rickie Maynard, of Green River, a citation for alleged public intoxication. Officers completed a report of the incident.

March 5

At 1:36 a.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run collision at the intersection of North 1st West Street and West Flaming Gorge Way. Officers met with an individual who reported their vehicle had been hit. Officers collected the information and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:03 a.m., officers responded to a report of a barking dog complaint on Mississippi Street. Officers met with the complainant and the owner of the dogs, advised of the situation, and completed a report of the incident.

At 4:26 p.m., officers responded to a report of lost property at the Green River Recreation Center. Officers met with an individual who reported their phone missing. Officers attempted to located the missing or stolen device and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:46 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision at the intersection of Uinta Drive and Astle Avenue. It was reported the vehicle was traveling south on North 4th West Street negotiating the curve in the road under the overpass when the vehicle lost control and struck a light pole. Officers issued the driver Murray Ingram, of Green River, a citation for alleged no insurance and completed a report of the incident.

March 6

At 1:46 a.m., officers observed a vehicle stopped on the side of the road by the underpass. The vehicle was unoccupied but officers were able to contact the driver. It was reported the vehicle had mechanical issues and the driver had left the vehicle there until they could go back for it. Officers ascertained the driver had a suspended driver’s license and an active warrant. Officers issued citations to Travis Esquibel, of Green River, for alleged obstruction of streets or sidewalks and driving while under suspension, second or subsequent offense, and placed Travis under arrest per the active warrant. Officers transported Esquibel to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:19 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision at the underpass. It was reported the vehicle was traveling south on West 2nd South Street negotiating the curve under the underpass when the vehicle lost control and struck the brick retaining wall. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 5:04 p.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run collision at the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Officers met with an individual who reported finding damage to their vehicle that had been parked and unoccupied. Officers completed a report of the incident.

March 7

At 1:54 p.m., officers responded to a report of trespassing at Firehole Place. Officers met with an individual who requested to have another individual issued a trespass warning for their property. Officers were unable to make contact with the individual and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:25 p.m., officers responded to a report of a verbal domestic. Officers met with the individuals involved, the parties separated, and officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 10:36 p.m., officers responded to a report of fraud on Pheasant Drive. It was reported an individual was being threatened by an unknown individual who requested money to be sent. Officers completed a report of the incident. No monetary losses were reported.

March 8

At 1:19 p.m., officers responded to a report of trespassing at Bomgaars. Officers met with the store manager who requested to have an individual suspected of shoplifting trespassed from the store. Officers contacted the individual, issued the trespass warning, and completed a report of the incident.

At 7:44 p.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run collision at Green River High School. It was reported one vehicle was stopped at the stop sign at Hitching Post Drive and the GRHS driveway, waiting to turn right when a second vehicle rear ended the first vehicle, then drove around the vehicle and turned left onto Hitching Post Drive. Officers collected statements and completed a report of the incident, which is still under investigation.

March 9

At 8:08 a.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run collision at Green River High School, reported previously. Officers issued the driver, a juvenile, 16, of Green River, a citation for alleged inattentive driving and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:28 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Apache Avenue. It was reported one vehicle was traveling west on Apache Avenue when the vehicle started to slide and struck a second vehicle which was parked and unoccupied. The driver of the first vehicle, Florence Trinque, of Green River, was issued citation for alleged speed too fast for conditions.

At 3:18 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual with an active warrant. Officers placed Jacob Kunkle, of Rock Springs, under arrest per the active warrant, transported Kunkle to the detention center, and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

March 10

At 7:31 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Bridger Drive and Hitching Post Drive. It was reported one vehicle was stopped at the intersection and another vehicle was traveling north on Hitching Post Drive. As the first vehicle initiated a left-hand turn, the second vehicle struck the driver’s side of the first vehicle. Officers issued the driver of the first vehicle, a juvenile, 16, of Green River, a citation for alleged inattentive driving with a crash.

At 8:45 a.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny at the Little Bear Motel. Officers met with an employee who reported items being taken from a room. Officers attempted to make contact with the individual who had rented the room and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:41 a.m., Animal Control Officers responded to Vermont Court and issued Jessica Setzer, of Green River, a citation for alleged animal at large - second offense.

At 3:18 p.m., officers responded to a report of forgery at Mission at Castle Rock Rehabilitation Center and the Villa. Officers met with staff who reported documents that had been forged by an individual formerly employed by Castle Rock. Officers took statements and completed a report of the incident.

At 9 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of West 2nd South Street and South 4th West Street and issued the driver, Maria Martinez Haro, of Green River, a citation for alleged speeding.

March 11

At 8:13 a.m., officers responded to a report of property damage on Cumorah Way. Officers met with an individual who reported their ex had broken a window of their vehicle. Officers were able to make contact with the suspected individual and the individual agreed to pay for the window. Officers later received a receipt showing the window had been repaired and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:52 p.m., officers at the GRPD office responded to a report of an agency assist for the Uinta County Sheriffs Office. Officers met with an individual regarding threats and completed a report of the incident.

March 13

At 5:39 a.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers arrived on scene and made contact by phone and then heard an individual stating the other individual had a knife. When officers reached the back parking lot they observed an individual with a knife. Officers instructed the individual to drop the knife. The individual failed to comply and officers deployed a department issued taser. Subsequently officers placed Milford Doctor, of Green River, under arrest for alleged domestic battery, false imprisonment, and interference with a peace officer. Officers transported Milford to the SWC Detention Center and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 4:09 p.m., officers responded to a report of a trash can that had caught fire at the Loaf and Jug on Bridger Drive. It was reported an individual pulled into the parking space and observed flames coming out of a trash can, then ran into the store and got a fire extinguisher from the clerk and extinguished the fire. The individual was evaluated by EMS and no transports were made. The cause of the fire is still under investigation and officers completed a report of the incident.

At 7:02 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of River View Drive and Uinta Drive. Upon officer arrival, officers were informed the driver of the second vehicle had fled the scene. It was reported the first vehicle was traveling north on Uinta Drive and the second vehicle was traveling south on Uinta Drive both approaching the intersection mentioned above. As the first vehicle entered the intersection, the second vehicle initiated a left-hand turn and the front of the second vehicle collided with the front of the first vehicle. EMS arrived to evaluate the occupants of the first vehicle and transports were made. Officers located the suspected driver and passenger of the second vehicle and took statements. During contact with the individuals officers ascertained one of the individuals was found to have an active warrant. Officers placed Kevin Hickson, of Green River, under arrest per the active warrant. Officers transported Hickson to the county detention center and completed a report of the incident.

March 14

At 3:49 a.m., officers responded to a report of a barking dog complaint on Waggener Street. Officers located the barking and attempted to make contact at the residence. Officers attempted contact by phone and left a message along with a notice on the door. Officers completed a report of the incident and forwarded it to Animal Control.

At 6:46 a.m., officers responded to a report of a barking dog complaint on Schultz Street. Officers made contact at the residence and advised of the complaint. Officers took statements and completed a report of the incident.

At 10:47 a.m., Animal Control Officers responded to a report of a nuisance animal on Bridger Drive and issued the owner, Nicole Bryson, of Green River, a citation for alleged nuisance animal.

At 11:09 a.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision with property damage at Taco Time. It was reported one vehicle struck and drove over the curb and retaining wall in the drive through, then fell down the retaining wall into the parking lot of the Allstate building. The vehicle then continued to the left and ran into the Taco Time sign on the west end of the parking lot. Officers met with the driver and detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from their breath. Subsequently the driver of the vehicle, Anastasia Dolinar, of Green River, was arrested for alleged DWUI alcohol .08 or greater and transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 7:57 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Arizona Street. It was reported one vehicle was traveling eastbound on Arizona Street and another vehicle was parked and unoccupied on the south side of the roadway. As the first vehicle passed the second vehicle, the passenger side mirror of the first vehicle struck the driver’s side mirror of the second vehicle. Officers met with the driver of the first vehicle and the owner of the second vehicle, took statements, and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:24 p.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny at Family Dollar. Officers met with the store manager who reported money had been taken from a lock box by a suspected employee. Officers attempted to make contact with the suspected individual and completed a report of the incident, which is still under investigation.
