Green River Police Department reports for Feb. 8

At 1:28 p.m., officers responded to a report of two individuals fighting in the street on East 4th South Street. Officers made contact with the individuals involved in a verbal dispute, took statements, and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:13 p.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle collision. It was reported two vehicles were traveling north on Uinta Drive navigating the curve in the roadway approaching the overpass. The first vehicle was traveling in the right hand lane after entering Green River then merged into the left hand lane, crossing the solid line. The second vehicle was traveling in the right hand lane and began merging into the left hand lane when the driver’s side of the second vehicle struck the front passenger side of the first vehicle. Officers met with both drivers, took statements, and subsequently issued the driver of the first vehicle, Chad Frazier, of Green River, a citation for alleged careless driving. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 3:53 p.m., while clearing the scene of a previous accident at the overpass, officers witnessed a vehicle traveling westbound navigating the curve on the overpass strike the guard rail on the right side of the overpass. Officers met with the driver and completed  a report of the incident.

Feb. 11

At 7:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of suspicious circumstances on Arizona Street. The reporting party advised that there were two unknown individuals in their backyard and they had ran off prior to officer’s arrival. Officers were unable to locate the individuals and were unable to find any further leads. Officers completed a report of the incident.

Feb. 12

At 2:15 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of Schultz Street and Logan Street and subsequently placed the driver, Billy Grimes, 82, of Green River, under arrest for alleged DWUI. Officers transported Grimes to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 4:58 a.m., officers responded to a report of property damage on Elk Valley Drive. Officers met with the reporting party who advised a neighbor had door-dinged their vehicle and caused damage. Officers later met with the suspect who advised they had spoken with the reporting party and they had come to an agreement to get the damage fixed on the vehicle. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 11:52 a.m., officers responded to a report of civil issues on Trona Drive. The reporting party advised that there had been a civil dispute and that they would like it documented. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 6:48 p.m., officers responded to a report of a barking dog on South 5th West Street. Officers attempted to speak with the owner of the dog, but were unable to make contact at the time of the report. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 11:59 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Uinta Drive. Officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Officers met with the driver and completed a report of the incident.

Feb. 13

At 6:58 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of Hitching Post Drive and Bridger Drive and issued the driver, a juvenile, 17, of Green River, citations for an alleged valid driver’s license violation and failure to provide proof of liability coverage.

Feb. 14

At 4:17 a.m., officers responded to a report of a verbal domestic. Officers met with both parties who advised they had a verbal argument and agreed to stay separated for the night. Officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 8:38 a.m., officers responded to a report of an individual suspected of being under the influence of marijuana at Green River High School. Officers and school administration met with the suspected individual and a parent or guardian. Officers located suspected marijuana and paraphernalia inside the individual’s vehicle, and subsequently issued the individual, a juvenile, 16, citations for alleged possession of a controlled substance, plant form - < 3 oz and use of a controlled substance. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 1:53 p.m., officers responded to a report of larceny on Uinta Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported their residence to have been rummaged through and items were missing. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 2:01 p.m., officers responded to a report of lost property on Moran Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported property missing and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:37 p.m., officers responded to a report of dogs barking on Cumorah Way. Officers made contact with an owner at the residence, advised of the complaint, took statements, and completed a report of the incident.
