Wolves seek to play their best basketball

With non-conference tournament play set to start next week, head coach Laurie Ivie is already happy with what she's seeing from the Green River High School boys basketball team.

After a week of tryouts, the Wolves' practices started this week. Ivie said the first few tournaments the team will play in December and early January will allow the Wolves to size up the competition they face this season, as well as give her coaching staff an opportunity to experiment with different players and positions to see what works for the team and what they need to focus on to improve.

"We're taking every opportunity we can so they're playing their best ball in March," Ivie said.

With five seniors returning to the team, Ivie said the student leadership will be strong for the team.

"We've got a great group of kids this season, they've played together for a long time," she said.

The Wolves will play in Casper next week, taking on Kelly Walsh, Laramie, and Cheyenne South.
