Green River Police Department reports for Nov. 2

At 1:05 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual with an active warrant at Probation and Parole. Officers met with the individual, confirmed the warrant, and placed Travis Moon Hernandez, 49, of Farson, under arrest per the active warrant. Officers transported Hernandez to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:39 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal dispute and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

Nov. 3

At 8:58 a.m., officers responded to a report of suspicious circumstances on West Flaming Gorge Way. Officers met with an individual who reported receiving an unknown package in the mail from China. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 9:40 a.m., officers responded to a report of property damage on Wild Horse Canyon Road. It was reported damage to a light pole was found, suspected to have been hit by a vehicle. Officers completed a report of the incident. 

At 1:12 p.m., Animal Control Officers made contact with the owner of a dog, which was previously impounded, at Buck Drive and Upland Way and issued a citation for alleged animal at large to Erin Smith, 34, of Green River.

At 3:18 p.m., officers at the GRPD office responded to a report of two missing juveniles. Officers were later notified both juveniles, ages 13 and 16, were located and safe. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 9:03 p.m., officers responded to a report of an injured deer on East 4th South Street. Officers observed the injured deer and contacted Game and Fish. It was determined the deer would suffer if not euthanized. Officers safely dispatched the deer and completed a report of the incident.

At 10:59 p.m., officers conducted a follow up on South Center Street and issued a citation to Alfredo Valdez, 47, of Green River, for alleged improper dumping of trash.

Nov. 4

At 6:19 a.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with individuals involved in an altercation. The parties were separated, trespass warnings were issued to both pirates, and officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 8:16 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was traveling eastbound on Astle Avenue and another vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Logan Street and Astle Avenue facing north. As the first vehicle approached the intersection, the second vehicle initiated a left-hand turn onto Astle Avenue, and the front driver side bumper of the first vehicle made contact with the rear driver side of the second vehicle. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 11:31 a.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny on Monroe Avenue. Officers met with an individual who reported an item missing from their yard. The item was later located and returned. The individual requested that the suspected individual be issued a trespass warning for their property. Officers attempted to make contact with the individual, and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:51 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was traveling west on East Flaming Gorge Way and another vehicle was traveling east in the turning lane on East Flaming Gorge Way approaching the intersection with Uinta Drive. As the first vehicle initiated a left-hand turn onto Upland Way and Wy 530, the first vehicle collided with the second vehicle. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 3 p.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism on Bridger Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported that someone keyed their vehicle. Officers completed a report of the incident. 

At 7:54 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with individuals involved in a verbal dispute. Officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

Nov. 5

At 12:29 p.m., officers responded at the GRPD office to a report of an individual with an active warrant. Officers met with the individual, confirmed the warrant, and placed Jesse Barouch, 34, of Green River, under arrest. Officers transported Barouch to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:12 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious individual at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Officers met with an employee who reported that an individual had entered the church, disturbed a service, and made blasphemous statements. Officers made contact with the individual and issued a trespass warning for the church.

At 6:11 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats or harassment. Officers met with an individual who reported receiving threatening text messages and phone calls from a known individual. Officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 8:12 p.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny at The Hitching Post Restaurant. Officers met with an employee who reported two individuals left without paying for their meals. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 8:27 p.m., officers responded to a report of found property at Smith’s Food and Drug. Officers met with an employee who turned over a found wallet. Officers attempted to locate an owner, booked the item in for safekeeping, and completed a report of the incident.

Nov. 6

At 2:55 a.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run collision involving three vehicles. It appeared to officers that one vehicle was traveling south on West Teton Boulevard and had rear ended a second vehicle, causing the second vehicle to then be pushed into the rear of a third vehicle. Officers were able to contact the owner of the suspected vehicle who identified the possible driver of the first vehicle. Officers later located the possible driver of the first vehicle who stated the vehicle had been stolen, but later advised the vehicle had not been stolen. Officers completed a report of the incident, which is still under investigation.

At 5:45 a.m., officers responded to a report of found property on telephone canyon road. Officers located a Utah license plate on the ground, booked the plate in for safekeeping, and completed a report of the incident.

At 10:09 a.m., officers responded to a report of a burglary at St. John’s Thrift Shop. Officers met with an employee who reported someone broke into the secured sheds on the property. Officers completed a report of the incident, which is still under investigation.

At 11:20 a.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism on West 2nd North Street. Officers met with an individual who reported a known individual caused damage to their vehicle. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 12:24 p.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run collision on Cumorah Way. Officers located a possible suspect and made contact with the individual. It was reported one vehicle was backing out of a parking spot and struck a second vehicle, then left the scene. Officers issued a citation to a juvenile, 16, of Rock Springs, for alleged hit and run -- unattended property. Officers completed a report of the incident. 

At 7:09 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual causing a disturbance at Taco Time. Officers met with employees who reported that an individual was yelling and throwing items at the employees, and requested the individual be issued a trespass warning for the property. Officers made contact with the  individual, issued the trespass warning, and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:17 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Cumorah Way. Officers met with individuals involved in a verbal dispute. The parties separated and officers completed a report of the incident.

Nov. 7

At 12:21 p.m., Animal control officers responded to a report of a barking dog on Juniper Street. Officers met with the owner of the dog, issued a verbal warning, and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:33 p.m., Animal control officers responded to a report of two dogs attacking another dog on Indian Hills Drive. Officers met with the dogs owners and completed a report of the incident. No injuries were reported.

Nov. 8

At 7 a.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny at Hutton Circle. Officers met with an individual who reported their vehicle had been burglarized and items were missing. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 8:28 a.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny on Lombard Street. Officers met with an individual who reported their vehicle had been burglarized and items were missing. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 1:05 p.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism at the American Legion . Officers met with the owner of the building who reported one of the windows had been spray painted, a lock damaged, and the building possibly entered. Officers met with the suspected individual and completed a report of the incident, which is still under investigation.

At 9:58 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on West Flaming Gorge Way on a vehicle and issued the driver, Michael Rodgers, 44, of Green River, a citation for alleged compulsory auto insurance violation - second offense.

At 10:08 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision at Smiths. It was reported a vehicle was traveling south on West Teton Boulevard and attempted a left-hand turn into the parking area of Smiths when the vehicle hit a concrete barrier and became high centered. The driver then called a taxi and left the vehicle behind. Officers subsequently issued the driver, Alex Holcomb, 32, of Green River, citations for alleged leaving the scene of an accident: damage to attended vehicle or property and failure to provide proof of liability insurance. Officers completed a report of the incident.

Nov. 9

At 4:51 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Wilderness Trail. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal dispute. The parties were separated and officers completed a report of the incident.
