Cross country team prepares for State

The Green River High School cross country team’s season is on its final week as the runners prepare for State in Ethete.

The Wolves traveled to Riverton to participate in the 3A conference championship. The boys placed seventh with 174 points while the girls placed sixth with 135 points.

For the boys, Nathan Stevenson was the top finisher for the Wolves by placing ninth with a time of 17:12.59.

Hale Iwen finished 30th with a time of 18:38.11 while Shay O’Melia finished with 18:57.84 to finish in 37th.

James Harper took 48th place with a time of 20:26.36 and Marcos Mandujano took 50th at 21:45.26.

On the girls’ side, the Murdocks led the Lady Wolves’ efforts with Isabelle Murdock taking 14th in 21:18.13.

Madison Murdock took 17th with a time of 21:30.15 and Lily Murdock took 28th at 22:09.36. Jayleigh Wright took 36th place at 23:00.04 with Jordan Parker finishing four places behind her in 40th at 23:46.32.

The final Lady Wolves were Vanessa Valerio in 42nd at 24:01.10 and Meeka Iwen in 43rd at 24:06.49.
