Edward "Ed" Jesus Petty Sr.

Edward "Ed" Jesus Petty Sr., 69, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He fought a courageous battle with cancer. He was a life-long resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming.

He was born April 19, 1952 in Rock Springs, Wyoming; the son of Keith Edward Petty and Aurora Marie Gil

Mr. Petty attended schools in Rock Springs and was a 1971 graduate of the Rock Springs High School.

He married the love of his life Rosemarie Ann Martinez December 3, 1971 in Coalville, Utah.

Mr. Petty served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict stationed in Korea.

He worked for Church & Dwight for 26 years having retired on January 9, 2004 as a Manufacture Operator.

Mr. Petty was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Community.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, National Rifle Association, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and American Legion Archie Hay Post #24.

He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, camping, wood working and being a "jack of all trades."

Survivors include his wife Rosemarie Ann Petty in Rock Springs, Wyoming; two sons; Edward J. Petty Jr. of Big Piney, Wyoming; Raymond Petty of Rock Springs, Wyoming; two brothers, Joseph Petty and wife Carol of Rock Springs, Wyoming; Kenneth Petty and wife Karen of Rock Springs, Wyoming; two sisters, Anita Petty Smith and husband Lynn of Rock Springs, Wyoming; Betty Mott and husband Dennis of Superior, Wyoming; ten grandchildren, Kayle Petty and wife Libby; Joseph Petty; Madison Petty; Jaron Petty; Jordyn Petty; Chase Petty; George Surbeck and wife Amber; Nathan Surbeck; Dominic Fiscina; Matthew Fiscina; four great-grandchildren, Willow Petty; Joseph Petty; Annady Surbeck; Lydia Petty, one aunt; Theresa Thomas and husband John as well as numerous cousins; nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Keith Petty and wife Aurora, one brother, Andrew Petty; his paternal grandparents, Howard Petty and wife Verda; his maternal grandparents, Joe Gil and wife Salud.

Following Cremation; a Vigil Service with Rosary will be recited at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 116 Broadway Street, Rock Springs, Wyoming. A Mass of Christian Burial will conducted at 11:30 A.M. Thursday, October 21, 2021 following Rosary at the church. Military Honors, Graveside Services and Inurnment will be in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery Columbarium.
