Green River Police Department reports for Aug. 18

At 8:37 a.m., officers responded to a report of accidental damage at Harrison Elementary School. Officers met with the driver of V1 who reported they were parked in a parking space and thought they had the vehicle in reverse, but when they proceeded to accelerate the vehicle went forward over the curb and struck a sign post. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 12:54 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Monroe Avenue. It was reported the first vehicle was stopped in the back parking area and the driver got out of the vehicle for a short time and the vehicle rolled forward striking a second vehicle, which was parked and unoccupied. Officers issued the driver Krystal Mccort, 32, of Evanston, a citation for alleged inattentive driving with a crash. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 1:28 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Crossbow Drive. Officers met with the owner and determined the vehicle was not stolen and the incident was a civil matter. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 9:58 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued the driver, a juvenile, 16, of Green River, citations for alleged exhibition of speed and compulsory auto insurance, second offense.

Aug. 19

At 12:44 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of West Flaming Gorge Way and Hillcrest Way and issued the driver, Alexander Vincint, 27, of Illinois, a citation for alleged speeding.

At 1:35 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on West Flaming Gorge Way and issued the driver, Alexander Clerger, 25, of Florida, a citation for alleged littering.

At 7:56 a.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny on Crossbow Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported their vehicle had been rummaged through. No items were reported missing at this time and no suspect has been identified. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 4:44 p.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny at Smith’s Food and Drug. Officers met with the store manager who reported an individual walked out of the store with items that were not paid for. Then another individual returned one of the items for cash. Officers completed a report of the incident, the case is still under investigation.

At 5:35 p.m., officers responded to a report of found property at Smith’s Food and Drug. Officers collected a found debit card and attempted to contact the owner. The card was booked in for safekeeping and a report of the incident was completed.

Aug. 20

At 1:02 a.m., officers responded to a report of a possible robbery at the Uinta Drive Load N’ Jug. Officers met with an employee who reported an individual had made threats then left the store. Officers located the suspected individual and ascertained the individual had an active warrant. Officers confirmed the warrant and placed Jesse Barouch, 36, of Green River, under arrest for alleged contempt of court. Officers transported Barouch to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:51 a.m., officers responded to a report of a minor in possession of a vaporizer suspected of containing nicotine at Expedition Academy. Officers met with the principal, the juvenile, and a parent. Officers issued the juvenile, 16, of Green River, a citation for alleged use or possession of tobacco by minor. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 12:17 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Uinta Drive. It was reported a vehicle was stopped at the driveway access to Plains Tire, waiting to turn left on Uinta Driove while, a second vehicle was traveling north on Uinta Drive. As the first vehicle pulled out onto Uinta Drive, the second vehicle struck the driver’s side of the first. Emergency medical providers were called to evaluate the drivers but no transports were made. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 1:03 p.m., officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run collision. It was reported a motorhome was traveling northbound on Juniper Street. When the passenger side of the motorhome struck a second vehicle, which was parked on the east side of the roadway. Officers attempted to locate the suspected vehicle and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:48 p.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny on Crossbow Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported missing medications. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 4:33 p.m., officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run collision on East Flaming Gorge Way. Officers met with an individual who reported damage to the driver’s side of the vehicle, which had been parked on the west side of the roadway on North 2nd East Street. Officers attempted to locate the suspected vehicle and completed a report of the incident.

At 4:36 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal dispute. The parties separated and officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 4:53 p.m., officers responded to a report of a parking problem on South 2nd East Street. Officers issued the driver of the vehicle, Medhie Jones, 73, of Green River, a citation for alleged prohibited parking: public or private driveway.

At 5:54 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision at 541 East Flaming Gorge Way. It was reported the driver of a vehicle left the vehicle parked in the parking area facing east. The vehicle rolled forward and struck the building, causing damage. Officers notified the owner of the building and completed a report of the incident.

Aug. 21

At 11:10 a.m., Timothy Robinson, 22, of Green River, was issued a citation for alleged animal license required on Schultz Street.

At 3:50 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats. Officers met with an individual who reported receiving threatening messages from an individual and requested that individual be issued a trespass warning. Officers attempted to locate the individual and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

Aug. 22

At 4:02 p.m., officers responded to a report of a civil standby on Crossbow Drive. Officers met with individuals over custody issues and completed a report of the incident.

At 7:40 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling faster than the posted speed limit. Officers met with the driver and ascertained the driver was driving on a suspended driver’s license. Officer subsequently placed the driver Pamela Collins, 41, of Green River, under arrest and issued citations for alleged driving while license cancelled, suspended, or revoked, and driving without interlock device. Officers transported Collins to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:29 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal altercation. Both parties agreed to be civil and officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 6:15 p.m., animal control officers responded to a report of a deer injured by a dog on West Railroad Avenue. Officers met with the owner of the dog and issued Kathryn O’Toole, 19, of Rock Springs, a citation for alleged animal at large.
