Green River Police Department reports for Aug. 10
At 1:10 p.m. officers responded to a report of property damage at the Green River Recreation Center. Officers met with an individual who reported another individual that cracked the windshield of their car. Officers met with the responsible party, who arranged to fix the window. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 3:15 p.m., officers responded to the GRPD lobby and emptied the prescription drug drop off box. Officers collected the medications, booked them in for future destruction, and completed a report of the incident.
At 9:06 p.m., officers responded to a report of a dog bite on Knotty Pine Street. Officers met with an individual that was bitten by a neighbor’s dog. The dog was not current on it’s rabies vaccination and the dog was impounded. The dog was taken to the animal shelter to be held on a 10-day rabies quarantine. Officers completed a report of the incident.
Aug. 11
At 12:30 a.m. officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Bridger Drive. It was reported a vehicle drove around the road closed sign and struck several pieces of rebar, which were sticking vertically out of the ground, causing damage to the rebar. Officers located the vehicle and made contact with the driver. Officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the driver’s breath. Officers issued citations for alleged driving while under the influence of alcohol, Hit and Run - unattended property, and improper lane usage. Officers placed Manuel Maestas, 70, of Green River, under arrest, transported Maestas to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.
At 12:55 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on River View Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported a prior altercation with a neighbor. Officers attempted to locate the individual and completed a report of the incident.
At 12:32 p.m., animal control officers responded to a report of possible animal cruelty at the animal shelter. Officers met with an individual who found a stray dog that was in poor condition. Officers impounded and transported the dog to Castle Rock Veterinary Hospital. Officers completed a report of the incident and the case is still under investigation.
At 11:48 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual yelling near the intersection of Bridger Drive and East Teton Boulevard. Officers met with an individual involved in a verbal dispute with another individual. The parties were separated and officers completed a report of the incident.
Aug. 12
At 9:28 a.m., officers responded to a report of an individual with an active warrant at the probation and parole office. Officers confirmed the warrant and placed Taylor Blanchard, 27, of Rock Springs, under arrest. Officers transported Blanchard to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.
At 11:39 p.m., officers responded to a report of a REDDI (Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately) report. Officers located the vehicle that had reportedly driven through the grass area at the Rock Butte Apartments. Officers made contact with the driver who stated they were trying to turn around due to the construction and cause damage to the grass. The driver was released from the scene and officers completed a report of the incident.
At 11:39 p.m., officers responded to a report of a burglary on East 2nd North Street. Officers met with an individual who reported their house had been ransacked and reported items missing. Officers completed a report of the incident, the case is still under investigation.
Aug. 13
At 2:39 p.m., officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run collision on South 2nd East Street. Officers met with an individual who witnessed the collision as well as the owner of the vehicle that was hit. The witness was able to provide information on the suspect vehicle. Officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle and observed damage on the vehicle consistent with the collision. The driver, Manuel Redondo, 78, of Green River, was issued a citation for alleged hit and run, unattended property. Officers completed a report of the incident.
Aug. 14
At 2:59 a.m., officers observed an individual who was “passed out” behind the wheel of a stopped, parked, running vehicle. The driver was discovered to be in physical control of the vehicle and was impaired and intoxicated. Officers placed the driver, Dmitri Maes, 28, of Green River, under arrest for driving while under the influence and issued the driver a citation for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 3:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of barking dogs on Schultz Street. Officers observed the barking dogs and attempted to make contact with the owners, but were unsuccessful. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 4:26 p.m., officers responded to a report of fuel theft on Jensen Street.
Officers met with the reporting party and completed a report of the incident. No suspects have been identified at this time.
Aug. 15
At 10:13 a.m., officers responded to a report of fraud on Pennsylvania Boulevard. Officers met with the reporting party and determined there was no criminal act that had taken place. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 1:11 p.m., officers responded to a report of fraud at Smith’s Food and Drug.
Officers met with the reporting party, gathered information on the fraudulent transaction, and completed a report of the incident.
Aug. 16
At 7:37 p.m., officers responded to a REDDI report on South 2nd East Street. Officers located the vehicle and met with the driver Jessica Buckner, 33, of Green River, who was subsequently placed under arrest for alleged driving while under the influence of alcohol.
and issued citations for DWUI and a compulsory auto insurance violation. Officers transported Buckner to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.
At 10:05 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on West Teton Boulevard and issued the driver, Makayla Gosenick, 20, of Rock Springs, a citation for alleged use of cellular telephone while driving.
