Donald "Don" Jarrel Melvin

Donald "Don" Jarrel Melvin, passed away on his 93rd birthday, Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Hallmark Rehabilitation Center in Denver, Colorado following a brief illness. He was a resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming for 54 years and former resident of Fort Collins, Colorado.

Mr. Melvin was born July 10, 1928 in Fort Collins, Colorado; the son of Donald Jennings Melvin and Gracie Jane (Burrow) Melvin.

He attended schools in Colorado and was a 1946 graduate of Fort Collins High School. Mr. Melvin also attended Colorado A&M where he earned a Bachelor of Animal Husbandry Degree; Donald also attended Colorado State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Engineering Degree.

Mr. Melvin served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Donald worked for Mountain Fuel Supply Company for 22 years until his retirement in 1990 as an Engineer. Don was also an Engineer at NASA for nine years.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing; hunting for fossils, and mapping arrow heads.

Survivors include three cousins, MaryLynn Williams; Doris Tyler; Donna Breckinridge; one niece, Janet Melvin; one nephew, Scott Melvin and wife Cindy.

Mr. Melvin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, parents, and one brother, Robert Melvin.

Following Cremation, services are pending.
