Rita Drnas

Rita Drnas, 87, passed away Friday, July 2, 2021 at Mission at Castle Rock in Green River, Wyoming. She was a life-long resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming.

Mrs. Drnas was born January 25, 1934 in Rock Springs, Wyoming; the daughter of Victor Menghini and Clara Zuech.

She attended schools in Rock Springs, and was a 1952 graduate of Rock Springs High School.

Rita married Joseph L. Drnas June 6, 1954 in Rock Springs; he preceded her in death September 17, 1989 in Jackson, Wyoming.

Mrs. Drnas worked at Mountain Bell Telephone for 10 years, until becoming a full-time mother.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Community.

Rita enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards and games.

Survivors include one son, Joe Drnas and wife Becky of Rock Springs, Wyoming; one brother, Edward Menghini and wife Patti of Cheyenne, Wyoming; one niece, Annette Milks and husband Rich; and one nephew, Mike Menghini and wife Susan.

Mrs. Drnas was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one son, David A. Drnas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 116 Broadway Street, Rock Springs, Wyoming. A Vigil Service with Rosary will be recited at 5:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at the church. Interment will be in Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services.
