Green River Police Reports for June 23

At 10:31 a.m., officers responded to a report of shoplifting at Family Dollar. Officers made contact with the individual suspected of taking items without paying for them and issued Sharina McGarrah, 29, of Branson, Missouri, a citation for alleged shoplifting. McGaraah was placed under arrest and transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center. Officers completed a report of the incident. 

At 11:46 a.m., officers responded to a report of larceny on Crossbow Drive. Officers met with the individuals involved and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:22 p.m., officers responded to a report of littering on East 2nd North Street. Officers observed the violations and attempted to make contact with an owner. Officers posted a notice on the door and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at Riverview Cemetery. A vehicle had attempted to pass another vehicle that was parked on the side of the roadway. As it passed the other vehicle, the passenger side mirror of the passing vehicle struck the driver side mirror of parked vehicle. Officers met with both parties and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:51 p.m., officers responded to a report of a dog bite on Wilkes Drive. Officers issued the owner, Rita Roberts, 68, of Green River, a citation for alleged vicious animal. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 8:29 p.m., officers attempted to make a traffic stop at the intersection of Whalen Butte Road and Hitching Post Drive on a vehicle with no valid registration. The driver fled from officers and was later apprehended. Officers issued the driver, a juvenile, 16, of Green River, citations for alleged careless driving and eluding a police officer. Officers completed a report of the incident.

June 24

At 11:26 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Uinta Drive and Roosevelt Drive issued the driver, Roberto Valdez, 44, of Green River, citations for alleged carrying and displaying driver’s license and failure to maintain liability coverage.

June 25

At 12:30 p.m., officers while on an unrelated call, made contact with a juvenile who was discovered to be in possession of a tobacco product. Officers issued the juvenile, 14, of Green River, a citation for alleged possession of tobacco by minor. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 1:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of found property on Hackberry Street. Officers located the property and attempted to find an owner. Officers were unable to locate an owner, the property was transported to the Green River Police Department and booked in for safekeeping. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 5:53 p.m., officers responded to a report of a verbal dispute. Officers met with both parties who agreed to separate for the night. Officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

June 26

June 27

At 12:56 p.m., officers responded to a report of littering on Apache Avenue. Officers met with the reporting party and observed an area where motor oil had been spilled. Officers were unable to locate a suspect at the time of the report. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 6:46 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Officers met with both parties who were involved. The parties agreed to separate for the night. Officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

June 28

At 8:18 a.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny on Iowa Avenue. Officers met with an individual who reported that someone had stolen money from the center console of their unlocked vehicle. Officers completed a report of the incident, the case is still under investigation.

At 9:05 a.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny at the Hitching Post Restaurant. Officers met with an individual who reported their purse was missing and unauthorized transactions to their credit cards were reported. Officers completed a report of the incident which is still under investigation, no suspects identified at this time.

At 11:55 a.m., officers responded to a report of a missing juvenile. Officers were able to locate the juvenile and turn them over to a parent. Officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 3:21 p.m., officers responded to a report of suspicious circumstances on Wilson Street. Officers met with an individual who reported concern over a registered sex offender in the area. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 3:52 p.m., officers responded to the GRPD lobby for a subject turning over prescription drugs for disposal. Officers collected the medications, that were booked in for destruction and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:22 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with individuals involved in a verbal dispute. Officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
