Museum hosts special display

World War II re-enactor Denny Pace with his collection of World War II paratrooper equipment at the Sweetwater County Historical Museum in Green River.

June 6, marked the 77th anniversary of the World War II D-Day landings in France, known as Operation Overlord, and the Sweetwater County Historical Museum hosted a special two-day exhibit in commemoration.

Green River resident Denny Pace has been a World War II re-enactor for more than 15 years. He has compiled an extensive collection of gear, clothing, and weapons used by American paratroopers of the Second World War era, particularly the 82nd Airborne Division, all of which were on display last Friday and Saturday.
