One more week for the Wolves swimming and diving team to hit an incredible milestone -- 100% qualification for the State swim meet.
So far, 18 of the 19 members have qualified for various events and while one competitor left the team early, head coach Colleen Seiloff believes it can happen, something she’s never had accomplished during her years as a swimming coach.
Overall, Seiloff said the boys have been swimming tired, but that didn’t stop them from taking second at the conference meet over the weekend. Green River was edged out by Lander, 352 points to the Wolves’ 291.
Despite the fatigue, Seiloff said she’s happy with how the boys competed Friday and Saturday.
After the last chance meet Thursday, the boys will travel to Laramie for the State swim meet Feb. 19-20.
Seiloff said she knows the 3A teams are strong in the pool and said she knows the Wolves will need to fight to get into the top three.
“We’ll see what happens,” Seiloff said.
