Genesis-Alkali recently donated 50 safety helmet lights to the Green River Fire Department. The lights are specifically built for firefighters and are intrinsically safe, which makes them useful in hazardous and explosive conditions. The donation project was led by James Sturgess, who is both a firefighter for the GRFD and a unit manager at Genesis-Alkali. Fred Von Ahrens, vice president of manufacturing at the facility, also expressed gratitude for the GRFD's recent efforts in putting out a fire at the Genesis-Alkali facility in a timely manner.
