GR Farmer's Market returns

Returning favorites and a few new faces will kick off the farmer’s market next week.

The Green River Farmer’s Market begins July 10 and will run until Sept. 11 on Roosevelt Street. The market will welcome four new vendors with 15 returning to make 19 total for the summer.

URA/Main Street Administrator, Jennie Melvin, said all their vendors are kept to the city’s standards for the market which is handmade, homemade or food related. They want to keep it friendly to small businesses. She encourages the residents to come out and keep the support high for the market. While the city has discussed cutting the market to a shorter lifespan, Melvin, said they hesitate to do so, because there is different produce at the end of the season that people still want. The community can expect home decor, jewelry, hair bows, produce, baked goods, ice cream, shaved ice, tumblers and much more. The market accepts pop up booths and new applicants throughout the season.
