GR junior kindergarteners visit the library

Children in Bonnie Orr's junior kindergarten class got the opportunity to visit the Sweetwater County Library last week, learning about what the library offers and having a chance to make a caterpillar based off a story presented to them.

According to Becky Iwen, youth services librarian at the library, said the library hosts school visits for children in Green River schools, with books and readers theater presentations tailored to specific grades. For the junior kindergarteners of Orr's class, that book was "The Very Hungry Caterpillar."

At the end of the presentation, children were given a tour of the library to get them familiar with the services they offer and worked on a craft related to their book. The junior kindergarteners made a caterpillar like the one from their story, pasting the different things the caterpillar ate beneath paper circles representing its segmented body.
