Green River High School's cross country team had a good early-season run during their annual invitational meet Friday.
Head coach Craig Leavitt said both the boys' group and the Lady Wolves' lone competitor, Madison Yoak, performed well. Leavitt was especially impressed with Yoak, saying she had a great time for the course. Leavitt said the runners worked hard Friday, despite dealing with reduced air quality from heavy smoke in the area, as well as rainfall during portions of the meet. Leavitt believes the cooler temperatures and rain helped his runners.
