Stella Lou "Mandros" Cook

Stella Lou "Mandros" Cook, 75, passed away Aug. 9, 2018, in Casper.

Stella was born Sept. 6, 1942, the daughter of Sam Mandros and Edith McFarland Mandros in Rock River.

The family moved to Green River when she was one year old.  She graduated in 1960 from Green River High School. In 1961, while working at Little America, she met and married Terry Fisher, who was in the Navy. They moved to San Diego, Calif., where their first daughter Sherry Fisher was born.

They then transferred to Seattle, where their second daughter, Kathy Fisher, was born. The family moved to Utah, Montana, and finally to Denver, where she began her 40-year career in accounting and payroll. Terry and Stella divorced in 1978.

In 1998 Stella moved back to Green River, while wokring for Mandros Painting, she met and married the love of her life Dwain "Homer" Cook. They lived for a time in Oklahoma and planned to retire in June 2008 to travel the United States. Homer passed away in April of 2008.

She moved back to Wyoming to be with her family in July of 2008 and worked at Hobby Lobby until her retirement in 2014.

Stella's hobbies included doing floral arrangements, reading, puzzles and playing cards.

She was loved by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by daughters Sharon "Sherry" Fisher and Kathy Moss (Wayne); brothers John Mandros (Roberta) and Gus Mandros (Norma); grandsons Conrad Stephens of Colorado, Austin Clark, and Tyler Clark of Casper; great grandchildren Riley and Reagan Stephens, both of Denver, and Brynlee Clark of Casper and numerous stepchildren, grandchildren great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Stella was preceded in death by her husband, Dwain "Homer" Cook; parents, Sam and Edith Mandros; brother Lloyd Waters; sisters, Betty Anderson, Lois Mullins, and twin sister Della Mosley.

A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m., Aug. 25, at Bustard's Funeral Home in Casper with Pastor Tim Adams officiating. Graveside services will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Green River Aug. 28 at 1 p.m.
