Lady Wolves take another loss

A season plagued with injuries is taking its toll on the Green River High School Lady Wolves basketball team.

The Lady Wolves started off the non conference season with a few wins, but as soon as conference play began, the wins stopped.

The teams latest loss came from their biggest rivals, the Rock Springs Lady Tigers, 65-22. This loss takes the Lady Wolves to 0-8 in the conference.

Prior to the game, head coach Rick Carroll said in an interview that one of the team’s best players, Andri Dewey had hurt her knee pretty bad and he wasn’t sure how significant the injury was. He said he knew her knee was pretty sore and it left him trying to find a point guard to fill in for Dewey for the Rock Springs game. At this point, it’s unclear is Dewey will be able finish out the rest of the season or not.

The Lady Wolves will finish the regular season with two home games this week with a game against Natrona County High School at 6 p.m. Friday and a game against Kelly Walsh on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Lady Wolves will then travel to Jackson March 1-3 for regional competition.
