Living with diabetes class set

Living with diabetes can be hard, and if left unmanaged, can lead to many other health problems.

Learn ways to manage diabetes and stay healthy during the Diabetic Empowerment Education Program beginning Jan. 9.

The free classes will be offered from 9:30-11:30 a.m. each Tuesday and Thursday for three consecutive weeks, January 9-25, at Golden Hour Senior Center

This is a peer led course with a one-on-one opportunity to visit with a doctor, nutritionist and pharmacist to help answer questions and concerns.

Learn to understand how diabetes affects the entire body; manage diabetes in a way that makes sense for health goals; and become an informed and empowered member of a health-care team.

These free classes are meant to support, not replace, professional diabetes self-management education.

The program is welcome to anyone with diabetes or pre-diabetes.

For more information contact the center at 307-352-6737 or Sheela Schermetzler at 307-872-3223. Pre-registration packets are available at the center.
