Resident elected to head Democrats

Wyoming’s Democrats decided new leadership is needed and chose a Rock Springs resident to head up the state party.

Two weeks ago, Joe Barbuto was elected chair of the Wyoming Democratic Party during a meeting in Sheridan. Barbuto replaces Ana Cuprill, a Democrat from Sublette County. He will serve a two-year term, which is up in 2019.

Barbuto is a former state legislator, having serviced residents in Rock Springs living in House District 48. He’s also served as chair of the Sweetwater County Democratic Party and was most recently the campaign manager for Ryan Greene’s failed election...
