Jody Wade Fortuna

Jody Wade Fortuna, 38, of Rock Springs, passed away on approximately Sept. 5, 2016, in Gillette.  

He was born on July 5, 1978, in Rock Springs, the son of Joseph Raymond Fortuna and Gail Ann Schurman Fortuna.

Fortuna attended schools in Rock Springs and obtained his GED.

He was a self-employed general contractor. 

His interests included hanging out with his family and friends. He loved fishing and rock hunting. 

Survivors include his mother, Gail Fortuna of Rock Springs; one brother, Kevin Fortuna and wife Margaret of Rock Springs; one sister, Tricia Lynn Bartlett and husband Chuck of Rock Springs; his paternal grandfather John Fortuna of Rock Springs; nieces and nephews Justin, Abrianna and Austin Bartlett, Jason Dreher and Mackenzie Jones, all of Rock Springs; several aunts, uncles and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his father Joe Fortuna; his brother Jay Fortuna; his paternal grandmother Donna Fortuna; maternal grandparents Grace and Skinny Fields; two aunts, Donna and Gladys; one uncle, John Schurman.

Funeral services took place Wednesday.
