Wolves takes first loss in Afton

Junior football player Dakota Wingard goes in for a tackle during play against the Star Valley Braves Friday evening.

The Wolves' undefeated streak ended in Afton Friday night, falling to the Braves 20-7.

In a rematch of the 3A State Championship last year, the Wolves responded to the Braves' physical play style, with the Wolves defense stopping a number of plays that gave them trouble during the championship game.

Despite that strong effort, the Wolves still struggled in its special teams plays, with short punts giving the Braves great field position at the start of their possessions. The Braves were able to make the first score of the game with a field goal in the first quarter, followed by a touchdown...
