Trunk or Treat event brings big crowd to GR

For about and hour and a half Saturday, businesses at the Green River Trunk or Treat were busy handing out candy.

The two-hour long event, hosted by the Green River URA/Main Street Agency, was packed with children dressed as ghosts, goblins, witches, super heroes, Disney characters, princesses, zombies; and just about anything else one could think of.

This year's event took place downtown on Flaming Gorge Way, where a few blocks were closed for the fun.

When children weren't busy collecting candy from local businesses, they were getting their photos taken, eating slushes or just having a good time with their family or friends.

The weather was perfect, unless one was wearing a costume they had purchased for cold weather.

Most of the trunks were decorated with scarecrows, ghosts, spiders and skeletons and the kids were excited to see all of the different decorations.

While children were trunk or treating, volunteers would give those with great costumes a sticker, which meant they thought that child's costume was good enough for the costume contest. With hundreds of children, this was no easy task for the volunteers.

Toward the end of the event, one resident used a drone to make a video of the event.
