Margo Ann Botero Kos, 86, of Rock Springs passed away May 20, 2016 at her home. A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Kos died following a lengthy illness.
She was born on March 19, 1930 in Red Lodge, Mont., the daughter of the late John Joseph Botero and Lempi Josephine Matson Botero.
Kos attended schools in Winton and Rock Springs. She was a graduate of the Rock Springs High School. She attended and graduated from the University of Wyoming with a bachelor's degree in education.
She married Thomas John Kos in Rock Springs in 1951 and he preceded her in death Feb. 12, 1980.
Kos was employed by Sweetwater County School District No. 1 for 45 years as an elementary school teacher and retired in 1995.
She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Community and bridge clubs.
Her interests were playing bridge, gardening, traveling and she was an avid reader.
Survivors include one son John Thomas Kos of Rock Springs; two sisters Joan Happel and husband Dr. Terry J. Happel of Chandler, Ariz., and Karen Smith of Rock Springs; one nephew Joseph John Smith of Rock Springs; two nieces Tracie Trimarco and Dana Tate both of Chandler, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Tom.
Cremation will take place and there will be no services at her request.
The family of Margo Ann Botero Kos respectfully suggests that donations in her memory be made to Red Desert Humane Society.
