John "Jack" William Woodward

John "Jack" William Woodward, 81, of Rock Springs passed away May 14, 2016 at his home. A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Woodward died following a lengthy illness.  

He was born on April 24, 1935 in Shreveport, La., the son of the late Peter E. and Rosa D. Woodward. 

Woodward attended schools in Jackson Hole.

He married Evelyn Frances Chase in Elko, Nev. in March of 1993. 

Woodward was a United States Army veteran. 

He was employed as a general contractor for the Anselmi family for 34 years. 

Woodward was a member of American Legion Archie Hay Post No. 24.

His interests included spending time with his wife, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed woodworking, making children's toys. 

Survivors include his wife Evelyn F. Woodward of Rock Springs; daughters Pracilla Irene Oconners of Kansas and Joyce Ann of Utah; son Gary John Davenport of Utah; brothers Cecil Woodward of Rock Springs and Chester Woodward of Kansas; two sisters, Rose Mary Keelin of Rock Springs and Katherine Stover of Kansas; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and sisters. 

Cremation will take place and there are no services scheduled at this time.
