Donald David Chacon

Donald David Chacon, 59, of Rock Springs, passed away April 9, 2016 at his home. He had been a long time resident of Rock Springs and former longtime resident of Salt Lake City. 

He was born on March 30, 1957 in Salt Lake City, the son of the late John G. and Ursala M. O’cana Chacon.  

Chacon attended schools in Salt Lake City and graduated from South High in 1976.  

He married Janice Chacon and they were married for more than 20 years and later divorced. He later married the former Sandra Winter in Salt Lake City, June 16, 2015.

Chacon served honorably in the United States Marines and was a veteran of Vietnam.  

He was a truck driver for Halliburton for the past 12 years.

His interests were golf and most of all serving his country. 

He is survived by his wife Sandra Chacon; two daughters, Jill Francis and husband Trevor, Chantel Chacon Artaza and husband David; stepchildren David, Ron, Dan, Diana and Deni; one brother, John P. Chacon; one sister, Rebecca A. Chacon Atwood; four grandchildren, McKean, Danica, Savanah, Cailin; fifteen step-grandchildren, Shelby, Jordan, Kody, Karissa, Rhianna, Katrina, Matthew, Kayla, Braydon, Chase, Chris, Kendrick, E.J., Caden and Gaby; three aunts, one uncle, twenty-four cousins, seven nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Dorothy E. Chacon, brother-in-law, Jerald Atwood. 

Funeral services and interment will be conducted in Salt Lake City.
