Swim team 6th at state

The GRHS Girls Swimming and Diving Team wrapped up their season at the state meet in Gillette last weekend.

The team placed sixth overall, but head coach Colleen Seiloff said the team showed great improvements during their final meet.

“The girls had a strong performance,” Seiloff said.

Seiloff said the team continues to improve and attract more talent. Seiloff said the aquatics center at GRHS has already had an impact in attracting students interested in swimming, either for the high school teams or for the USA Swim Club that utilize the facility.

She said a number of students are already developing into great competitors.

Three seniors will leave the team, McKell Lyon, Dakota Neumann and Natasha Beckerman. Seiloff said the three provided great leadership for the team.

In general, Seiloff said the entire team was a nice group of hard-working, competitive girls.
