Adeline Montoya

Adeline Montoya, 85, of Reliance passed away June 15, 2015 at the St. Marks Hospital in Salt Lake City.

A longtime resident of Rock Springs, and former resident of Quealey, Montoya died following a brief illness.

She was born on Nov. 1, 1929 in Trinidad, Colo., the daughter of the late Emanuel Sena and Alice Henry Sena. Montoya attended schools in Trinidad, Colo.

She married Luciano Montoya at Trinidad, Colo. in August of 1944 and he preceded her in death in April of 1981.

Montoya was employed by Sweetwater County School District No. 1 for 27 years as a custodian.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Community.

Her interests included gardening, working in her yard, visiting her children and grandchildren and attending family functions.

Survivors include son Vincent Montoya of Reliance; four daughters, Louise Smith and husband Bruce, Barbara Graebert and husband Jerry, Patricia Miera, and Alice Montoya, all of Rock Springs; 18 grandchildren, Deborah Anselmi, Albert Morgan, William Morgan, Melody Householder and husband Skip, Aaron Morgan, Wayne Hester, Keith Hester and wife Tammy, Bobbie Jo Lloyd, Heather Graebert Pitt, Brittney Durrans, Jeremy Howe, Sheri Angelovic and husband A.J., Lance Durrans, Sierra Durrans, Steven Montoya, Jacob Montoya and Michael Montoya; 38 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Joseph and Floyd Montoya; one grandson, Donald Morgan; one great-grandson, Justin Roy Morgan; sister and brother-in-law Flora and Robert Reynoso; step-son Patrick ReGene Montoya.

A mass of christian burial took place Tuesday.
