Norma Jean Boyer

Norma Jean Boyer, 90, of Green River, passed away June 13, 2015 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County.

A longtime resident of Green River and former resident of Moab, Utah, Boyer passed away following a lengthy illness.

She was born on March 28, 1925 in Auburn, Ill., the daughter of the late Gilbert Robinson and Bessie Woolary Robinson.

Boyer attended schools in Auburn, Ill. and graduated from Auburn High School with the class of 1942.

She married Harvey "Hap" Boyer in Dragerton, Utah on Feb. 16, 1945 and he preceded her in death in Green River Feb. 19, 1991.

Her interests included crossword puzzles, bird watching, books, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a member of the Golden Hour Senior Citizens Center.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Boyer and wife Darlene and Donald Boyer and wife Elaine, both of Green River; two daughters, Sheryl Kester and husband Monte of Green River, and Karen Barneski of Gillette; sister Betty Wilhite of Auburn, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Raymond Robinson, Robert Robinson, William Robinson and Kenneth Robinson; and three sisters, Wanda Hopkins, Mary Lacey and Margaret Zorn.

Memorial services took place Wednesday.
