Julian "Julio" Delgadillo

Julian "Julio" Delgadillo, 87, of Rock Springs passed away at his home April 11, 2015.  A longtime resident of Rock Springs and former resident of Teocaltiche, Jalisco, Mexico, Delgadillo passed away following a brief illness.

He was born on Jan. 9, 1928 in Teocaltiche, Jalisco, Mexico, the son of the late Eutimio Delgadillo and Epigmenia Jauregui.

Delgadillo attended schools in Ostotan, Jalisco, Mexico.

He married Josefina Jauregui in Mexticacan, Jalisco, Mexico on April 21, 1954.

Delgadillo worked as a mason finisher and Radio DJ for 33 years until his retirement in April of 2011.

He was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Community.

Survivors include his wife Josefina Delgadillo of Rock Springs; two sons, David Delgadillo and Julian Delgadillo Jr., both of Rock Springs; three daughters, Hortencia Delgadillo and husband Antonio Yepez of Teocaltiche, Jalisco, Mexico, Bertha Alicia Lovato and husband Thomas of Rock Springs and Luz Miriam Delgadillo and husband Maicol Jaramillo of Rock Springs;  one brother, Arturo Delgadillo of Rock Springs; one sister, Jovita Delgadillo of California; three grandchildren, Jose Antonio Yepez Delgadillo, Hortencia Lizeth Yepez Delgadillo and Julian Joseph Delgadillo-Lovato and many cousins, nephews and nieces.

His interests included spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, gardening, songwriting, his radio show and promoting Mexican dances.  He loved helping people.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his two sons Ruben Delgadillo and Jose Cutberto Delgadillo; granddaughters Maria Yepez Delgadillo and Allyssa Marie Delgadillo-Lovato and sisters Justina Gonzalez and Socorro Jauregui.

A mass of christian burial will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church at 116 Broadway in Rock Springs. A vigil service with rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m., Friday, at the church. Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, north of Rock Springs. Friends may call at the church on Friday afternoon until time of Rosary and again at the church one hour prior to services.
