Rob Roy Hamilton, 59, of Green River passed away at Memorial Hospital in Rock Springs Feb. 7, 2015 after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Lander on Aug. 24, 1955. The son of Onyx P. Smith and William Stanley Hamilton.

He graduated from Omaha Central High School in Omaha, Nebraska in June of 1973. He served his country in the Navy from August 1973 through August 1980 on the USS Saratoga and the USS Midway.  He loved fishing, gardening, and astronomy.

He is survived by his son Adam James Hamilton of Green River; mother Onyx "Pat" Hamilton of Green River; sister Zaundra Hamilton of Green River; brother Daniel Hamilton of Custer, S.D .; nephew Matthew Jett of Rock Springs; niece Teresa Smith, husband Brian and their daughter Burke Kelly, all of West Jordan, Utah.

He is preceded in death by his wife Tyrra Runion Hamilton and their infant daughter.  

A military service is pending.  

He will be greatly missed.
