Don Davis

Don Davis, 77, of Rock Springs and Albuquerque, N.M. passed away Oct. 18, from head injuries suffered from a fall.

He was surrounded by his family when the angels came for him.

He was born on a farm in Tazewell County, Va. to James O. Davis and Dora Ethel Harris Davis June 15, 1937.

Don had a passion to build. He incorporated his company Davis Contractors, Inc. in 1980 as a general contractor.

For the past 30 years, he built many beautiful homes in Green River and Rock Springs, as well as worked on many commercial jobs. Projects he worked on in Green River include the bowling alley, Phase I of Green River High School, the Oak Tree Inn and Penny’s Diner.

He took much pride in his work and built each custom home like it was his very own. He accepted nothing less from himself except excellence, honesty and integrity. His best assistant, Maurice Rojas, had worked with him, side by side, for the past several years, helping him with the love of building beautiful homes.

He was a die-hard Denver Broncos fan.He had a huge heart and loved to be generous with everything he had. He leaves an enormous footprint in Wyoming. He loved reading his Bible every morning.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Graham and Bobby Davis, sister Betty Hunnell, and son-in-law Shawn Bargas.

He is survived by his wife, Katarina Davis of Albuquerque N.M.; son, Jimmy Davis of Denver; daughters Terry Bargas and Tracey Mendez of Denver; son Craig Davis of Grand Junction, Colo.; Gabriel Vigil and wife Jamie of Loveland, Colo., Rasha Bybee, husband Greg of Albuquerque, N.M.; brothers Raymond Davis wife Lucille of Baltimore, Ervin Davis, wife Shirley of Cedar Bluff, Va., David Davis, wife Rita of Richlands, Va.; sister Evenly Sue Mitchell and husband Buddy, Christiansburg, Va., Sister-in-laws Mildred Davis, Cedar Bluff, V. and Carol Davis, Lebanon, Va.; brothers in-law, Ruben Trujillo, Albuquerque, N.M.; Jose Luis Trujillo, Salt Lake City, Isaac and Mary Maestas, Rock Springs, and who officiated the service, Madeline Trujillo-Hamel of Green River. He is also survived by his in laws, Joe Trujillo, and Phyllis Trujillo, of Albuquerque, N.M.  

He loved his grandchildren, C.J., Brandon and Amber Lovett, Michael and Tess Bargas, Taylor and Erick Davis, Gage and Jenesis Bybee, Gavin and Roman Vigil, and great grandchildren Elijah and Austin Lovett. Funeral services have already taken place.
