Marlene J. Nomis

Marlene J. Nomis, 74, of Green River, passed away on Sept. 9, 2014 at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City. A longtime resident of Green River, Nomis died following a lengthy illness.

She was born on Oct. 27, 1939 in Havre, Mont., the daughter of the late George "Buster" Mann and Dorothy Sapp Mann.

Nomis attended schools in Montana and was a graduate of the high school. She also attended cosmetology school in Washington.

She married George Nomis on April 26, 1963 in Green River.

Her interests included playing piano, singing, crocheting, working crossword puzzles and spending time with her family and her dog Benji.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.

Survivors include her husband George Nomis of Green River; two sons, Keith Nomis and wife Tonya of Castle Rock, Colo. and Mike Nomis and wife Stephanie of Green River; two daughters, Annette Nomis McCullough and husband Bruce of Douglas and Chris Nomis Ortega of Green River; two sisters, Maxine Everaert of Dewey, Ariz. and Lorna Murphy and husband Marlin of Bloomfield, N.M .; grandchildren Stevie Nomis, Sierra Nomis, Brooklyn Nomis, Aliyah Nomis, Mitch Roberts, Brandi Richmond and Brittni Richmond;, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother-in-law, Maurice Everaert.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. today at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery.
