A short note about the birth announcements

Readers have probably noticed we have a very long list of birth announcements this week in the Green River Star.

The list, which comes in at more than 1,800 words, are the names of births taking place at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County for the past several months.

While it would be easy to shrug one’s shoulders and blame the late publication of the announcements as an email issue, the fact of the matter is that I’m the one to blame.

The issue is resolved and should have been done much sooner, as the readers of the Green River Star deserve to receive those announcement in a more timelier manner.

After all, our readers are grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles and neighbors and even in this age of instantly gratifying social medial exposure, there’s still a spark in a person’s eye when they hold up the newspaper and show their friends a birth announcement involving their friends or family.

I sincerely apologize to our readers and will continue to work towards the high standard they have in this newspaper.
