Green River Police Department reports for April 10 - 16

April 10

At 12:50 p.m., Animal Control Officers responded to a report of an injured deer. It was reported the deer had been attacked by a dog and was severely injured. Officers observed the injured deer and contacted the Wyoming Game and Fish Office. Officers received permission to have the deer dispatched and officers dispatched the deer. Officers located the owner of the dog and issued a citation to Leslie Price, of Green River, for alleged animal at large - 2nd offense. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:19 p.m., officers responded to a report of a verbal domestic. Officers met with individuals involved in a dispute, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 4:52 p.m., officers responded to Probation and Parole at 140 Commerce Drive in reference to an individual with an arrest warrant. Officers met with agents and the individual, confirmed the arrest order, and placed Kieran Leclair, under arrest. Officers transported Leclair to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 6:15 p.m., officers responded to the area of Apache Avenue for a report of a disturbance. Officers met with the individuals involved in a dispute. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 6:24 p.m., officers responded to a residence on N 4th E Street for a report of a burglary. Officers met with an individual who reported an unknown individual had entered a residence through a window and believed the individual was squatting in the unoccupied residence. Officers made contact at the residence, gathered information, and placed Kaleb St. Helen, of Green River, under arrest for alleged trespassing. Officers transported St. Helen to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

April 11

At 1:36 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Wind River Drive for a report of shots fired in the direction of Hitching Post Drive. Officers canvassed the area and were unable to locate anyone in the area or signs of where the noise was generated from. Officers made contact with several residents, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 10:05 a.m., officers responded to a residence on Adams Street for a report of nuisance property. Officers observed the property in violation of the City ordinance 17-3(b) and attempted to make contact with the property owner. Officers posted a notice and completed a report of the incident.

At 12:22 p.m., officers responded to the area of E Teton Boulevard for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported both vehicles were traveling westbound on E Teton Boulevard when the second vehicle passed the first vehicle in a no-passing zone. Both vehicles then turned onto Uinta Drive and were traveling northbound toward the river bridge. The first vehicle was in the right-most lane, while the second vehicle was in the left lane. The first vehicle attempted to pull into the left lane in front of the second vehicle and the two vehicles collided. Officers met with both drivers and gathered information. Officers issued a citation to Misty Fowler, of Green River, for alleged improper lane usage and a citation to Anthony Chitica, of Green River, for alleged no passing zones violation. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 1:35 p.m., officers responded to a residence on E Teton Boulevard for a civil standby. Officers met with an individual who reported a dispute while another individual was moving out. Officers gathered information, conducted a civil standby, and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:39 p.m., officers responded to the GR Animal Shelter at 80 E Teton Boulevard for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was parked in a parking space in front of the animal shelter. A second vehicle was in the traveling lane of the parking area of the shelter. The first vehicle began to back out of the parking space into the travel lane of the parking area when it collided with the second vehicle. Officers gathered information, issued a citation to Charles Bryan III, of Green River, for alleged improper backing, and completed a report of the incident.

At 6:57 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Wilkes Drive for citizen assistance. Officers met with individuals involved in a dispute. Both parties refused to separate from each other, in order to avoid confrontation. Officers offered assistance, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:35 p.m., officers responded to a residence on N Center Street concerning a violation of a protection order. Officers met with an individual, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident, which was forwarded to the County Attorney for review.

At 9:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats/harassment. Officers met with an individual who reported a subject in a vehicle almost hit them and then words were exchanged. Officers located and made contact with the driver of the vehicle. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

April 12

At 8:58 a.m., officers responded to a report of an individual receiving unwanted phone calls. Officers met with the individual who advised they had received threatening phone calls from an unknown number. Officers gathered the information and completed a report of the incident.

At 10:21 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats made over the phone. Officers met with the reporting party who advised he was on a conference call with a friend and an unknown individual and during the call the unknown individual made threats directed towards the reporting person. Officers gathered the information and completed a report of the incident.

April 13

At 4:09 a.m., officers responded to a report of trespassing. Officers met with the reporting party who advised there was a person at their door who has been court ordered to have no contact with them. Officers met with the suspect and advised them they needed to leave the area. The individual left the area without issue and officers completed a report of the incident.

At 5:02 a.m., officers responded to a report of a barking dog. Officers attempted to make contact with the owner but were unsuccessful at the time of the report. Officers left a message for the owner advising of the complaint. Officers completed a report of the incident.

April 14

At 2:37 p.m., officers responded to a residence on W Teton Boulevard for a report of fraud. Officers met with an individual who reported they had received an email with a bill stating it was from Microsoft for Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection. After clicking on the link, in the email, the individual was directed to a customer service number. The individual who answered the phone requested bank account information and requested funds. When the individual did not comply with the request, their computer was hacked and a financial page opened. After what appeared to be funds being transferred from their account, the screen went black. The computer was disconnected from the server in an attempt to cut off the connection. The individual and officers reported the incident to the financial institution; no monetary losses were reported. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 7:28 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Riverbend Drive for a report of an animal problem. Officers met with an individual who reported the neighbor’s dogs were trying to get into their yard and kill their chickens. Officers made contact at the residence, advised of the complaint, issued a verbal warning, and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:19 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

April 15

At 5:16 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop and issued the driver a written warning for an alleged when headlights are required violation.

At 10:24 a.m., Animal Control Officers responded to a residence on South Carolina Drive for a report of a barking dog complaint. Officers made contact with the dog’s owner, advised of the complaint, issued a verbal warning, and completed a report of the incident. 

At 9:35 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in a dispute and gathered information. The parties separated and officers completed a report of the incident.

At 10:10 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop and issued the driver, a juvenile, age 16, of Green River, a citation for alleged when headlights are required violation and a written warning for alleged no valid driver’s license and/or violation of driver’s license conditions.

At 11:14 p.m., officers were dispatched to a fight in progress. Officers met with the individuals involved in the disturbance who advised it was a verbal dispute only. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

April 16

At 12:01 a.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in an altercation and gathered information. Subsequently, officers placed Camrin Frye, of Green River, under arrest for alleged domestic battery. Officers transported Frye to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:35 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of E Teton Boulevard and Scotts Bottom Road on a vehicle for a speeding violation. Officers found the driver to have an ignition interlock device requirement on their driver’s license. Subsequently, Samantha Robeson, of Eugene, Oregon, was placed under arrest. During an inventory search of the vehicle, officers located several items of paraphernalia and suspected controlled substances: 26.61g of suspected marijuana, marijuana wax or dab, and psilocybin. Officers transported Robeson to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and issued Robeson citations for alleged vehicle superintendents speed zone violation (6+ MPH over), driving without an interlock device, and three counts of unlawful possession - plant form < 3 ounces. Officers then completed a report of the incident.

At 8:41 a.m., officers responded to the GRPD at 375 W Flaming Gorge Way for a report of a citizen assist. Officers made contact with an individual who reported concerns about a previous incident. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:07 a.m., officers were dispatched to a residence on Riverview Drive for a report of a disturbance. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal dispute, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:24 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence on Riverview Drive for the report of a disturbance. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal dispute, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:24 p.m., officers responded to the area of Uinta Drive and E Flaming Gorge Way for a report of a hit-and-run collision. Officers met with the owner of the second vehicle who reported that they had been stopped at the traffic light facing east on E Flaming Gorge Way at the intersection with Uinta Drive and Highway 530 when they observed another vehicle approaching rapidly behind them. The driver of the second vehicle tried to accelerate to get out of the way but the first vehicle collided with the rear of the second vehicle. The driver of vehicle two reported the first vehicle had pulled past them, then pulled off the roadway for a minute or two before it left the area towards the interstate. Officers attempted to locate the vehicle, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 5:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Buck N Bar at 50 E Flaming Gorge Way for the report of a traffic hazard. Upon arrival, officers observed a vehicle running and parked in the alley behind the Buck N Bar. Officers located an individual inside the vehicle who appeared to be sleeping and was unresponsive. Officers smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic based beverage coming from the vehicle and attempted to wake up the individual. Officers turned the vehicle off and the individual awakened. Officers gathered information and located several open containers of alcohol. Officers placed Yazzie Melbert, of Sanostee, New Mexico, under arrest and issued a citation for alleged DWUI of alcohol: incapable of safely driving. Officers then transported Melbert to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 6 p.m., officers, while on the call mentioned above, for safety purposes turned the vehicle off, and as they did so, the vehicle rolled back into a Green River Police Department patrol truck. The only contact that was made was between the rear bumper of the vehicle and the padded portion of the push bumper on the patrol vehicle. Officers completed an incident report. No damage was discovered to either vehicle.

At 10:22 p.m., officers responded to a shoplifting complaint from Smith’s Grocery Store, located at 905 Bridger Drive. Officers met with a store supervisor who reported an individual left the store with a full basket of groceries, but a store employee was able to recover the cart from the individual. The store supervisor requested a trespass warning be issued to the individual. Officers identified a possible suspect and made several attempts to make contact with the subject then completed a report of the incident. Officers will continue to try and make contact to issue the trespass order.
