Green River Police Department reports for Sept. 11
At 5:33 p.m., officers responded to a report of stalking. Officers met with the reporting party who advised they felt like they were being stalked and harassed by an unknown individual. The reporting party advised they had received harassing messages and felt like they were being followed by the unknown individual. Officers gathered the information from the individual and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
At 7:23 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual with an active warrant. Officers made contact with the individual and confirmed the warrant. Officers placed Raymond Martinez, 40, of Green River, under arrest per the active warrant and transported him to the Sweetwater County Detention Center. Officers completed a report of the incident. At 8:26 p.m., officers responded to a report of property damage on Knotty Pine Street. Officers responded to the location of the damage which was called in by a concerned passerby. Officers observed the damage to the property and attempted to get in contact with the owner. Officers were unable to make contact at the time of the report. Officers completed a report of the incident.
Sept. 12
At 8:37 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two vehicle crash at Truman Elementary School. The involved parties stated that both vehicles had been parked along the roadway when the first vehicle reversed to leave and made contact with the front bumper of the second vehicle, which was parked behind them. Officers observed the damage to the vehicle and completed a report of the incident.
At 6:36 p.m., officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. Officers met with the involved parties and gathered their statements. The reporting party advised they had gotten into an argument with the other individuals in the residence. The involved parties advised they would separate for the evening and there would be no further issues. Officers completed a report of the incident. At 7:36 p.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism on Shoshone Avenue. Officers met with the reporting party who stated a window on their vehicle had been damaged. Officers observed the damage but were unable to determine the cause of the damage. Officers completed a report of the incident.
Sept. 13
At 7:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of harassment. Officers met with the reporting person who advised that they were being harassed by a neighbor. Officers gathered the information from the reporting party and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
At 12:55 p.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny on South Wagonwheel Drive. Officers met with the reporting party who advised that two mini motor bikes had been stolen off of their property. Officers gathered the information about the bikes, checked the area where they had been taken from, and completed a report of the incident. Officers did not locate a suspect at the time of the report. This case is still under investigation.
At 7:27 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual with an active warrant. Officers made contact with Rennie Casto, 45, of Green River, and placed him under arrest per the active warrant. Officers transported Casto to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
At 9:27 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance at Maverick. The reporting party advised that there were two individuals arguing in the parking lot. Officers met with the individuals and witnesses and gathered their statements. Officers then issued Ino Castaneda, 55, of Cheyenne, citations for alleged public intoxication and trespassing (refuse to leave when asked). Officers placed Castaneda under arrest and transported him to the Sweetwater County Detention Center. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 10:25 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Upland Way. Officers met with the individuals who advised that there had been a disagreement and items had been thrown around in the residence. Upon officers arrival the reporting party advised things had calmed down and they would be okay for the evening. Officers completed a report of the incident.
Sept. 14
At 9:20 a.m., officers responded to a report of larceny on Bridger Drive. The reporting person advised they had some items stolen by a former acquaintance. Officers spoke with the reporting party, gathered information about the missing items, and completed a report of the incident. This case is still under investigation.
At 3:32 p.m., officers responded to a report of a counterfeit bill at Trona Valley Federal Credit Union. Officers met with the reporting party who advised a customer had attempted to deposit a bill that turned out to be counterfeit. Officers met with the individual who deposited the money and attempted to trace it back to its origin. Officers completed a report of the incident. This case is still under investigation.
Sept. 15
At 1:16 p.m., officers were dispatched to Wyochem Federal Credit Union for a report of a fraud. The reporting person stated that they had been sending money to an unknown person they had been communicating with over social media. The reporting person realized they were being scammed when they were sent a check for a large amount of money and asked to deposit it and send the money back. Their bank confirmed the check was fraudulent and reported it to police. The reporting person was referred to file a report with the Internet Crime Complaint Center. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 3:04 p.m., officers were dispatched to East Flaming Gorge Way for an agency assist. The reporting person stated they found two bills on the ground and when they picked them up, a burning rash developed on their hand. Officers collected the bills, and completed a report of the incident. This case is active and under investigation.
At 3:53 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of property damage on N 7th W Street. The reporting person stated that they had parked their vehicle two days before and today, the back window was shattered. Officers on scene were unable to determine the exact cause of the damage. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 5:14 p.m., officers were dispatched to Mansface Liquor in reference to a two-vehicle crash. Vehicle one was backing out of a parking spot when they noticed a black pick up truck driving erratically back and forth on the north side of the Mansface Liquors’ parking lot. While trying to pull out of the parking spot without hitting the black truck or being hit by the black truck, the first driver did not see vehicle two stopped behind them and made contact. No citations were issued. Officers completed a crash report of the incident.
Sept. 16
At 11:33 a.m., officers and GRFD responded to a report of an explosion and the garage on fire on E 4th S Street. The Green River Fire Department arrived and extinguished the fire in the garage. Officers met with a subject, who was later issued a citation and arrested for alleged public intoxication. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Sept. 17
At 10:46 a.m., officers responded to the city horse corrals for a report of a larceny. Officers met with an individual who reported a tire missing from their trailer. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 11:09 a.m., officers responded to a report of a missing person. Officers met with an individual who reported another adult individual as missing. Officers attempted to locate or make contact with the individual, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
Sept 18
At 4:59 a.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run on W 2nd N Street. Officers met with the owner of a truck and trailer who reported the damage to the truck and trailer. Officers gathered information and attempted to locate the suspected vehicle. Later officers were contacted by the driver of the other vehicle. It was reported the first vehicle was traveling west on W 2 N when it swerved for a deer in the roadway and struck the truck and trailer that were parked on the north side of the roadway. The driver left the area, then later came back to make contact with the owner of the truck and trailer. No contact was made so the driver of the first vehicle left a note. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 3:46 p.m., officers observed a vehicle make two quick turns without using a blinker and then run the stop sign at Roosevelt Drive and Wilkes Street. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and met with the driver who was found to be driving on a suspended driver’s license. Officers issued Chantell Coen, of Green River, a citation for alleged driving while suspended, and completed a report of the incident.
At 6:53 p.m., officers responded to a report of a dispute on Wilson Street. Officers met with individuals involved in an altercation, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.
At 7:25 p.m., officers responded to a report of suspicious circumstances on Knotty Pine Street. Officers met with an individual who reported a broken window in the back door of a residence. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
