Green River Police Department reports for June 23

At 7:37 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual with an active warrant. Officers made contact with the individual, confirmed the warrant, and placed Michael Anson, of Green River, under arrest per the active warrant. Officers transported Anson to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 10:40 p.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired at the Embassy Tavern. The GRPD released full press releases regarding the incident.

June 24

At 8:08 a.m., officers responded to a report of threats or harassment. Officers met with individuals involved in a dispute, gathered information, advised, and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 9:29 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Indian Hills Drive. Officers met with individuals involved in a dispute, gathered information, issued a trespass warning, and completed a report of the incident. 

At 8:49 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault. Officers met with the individuals that had been involved in an altercation, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

June 25

At 9:39 a.m., officers responded to a report of found property on West Flaming Gorge Way and North 2nd West Street. Officers collected a suspected drug pipe that was found on the ground and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:02 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision at Maverick. It was reported as the vehicle was parking in a dirt lot the vehicle collided with a large rock, causing damage. Officers met with the driver, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal altercation, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

June 26

At 4:56 a.m., officers responded to a report of a citizen assist on West Flaming Gorge Way. Officers met with an individual who reported concerns over feeling they were being stalked. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 10:35 a.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in an altercation, gathered information, and subsequently placed Tony Silvers, of Green River, under arrest on charges of alleged domestic battery and strangulation of a household member. Officers transported Silvers to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 5:01 p.m., officers responded to a report of found property on South 2nd East Street. Officers had credit cards turned in during Flaming Gorge Days. Officer attempted to contact an owner, booked in the cards in for safekeeping, and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:19 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats or harassment. Officers met with an individual who reported being harassed over phone calls. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 11:23 p.m., officers responded to a report of an unresponsive individual. Officers assisted EMS and GRFD personnel. The individual was pronounced deceased and the scene was turned over to GRPD detectives. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. The case is still under investigation. June 27

At 12:54 p.m., officers responded to a report of lost property on Powell Street. Officers met with an individual who reported they had left their wallet on top of their car. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:10 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-car collision on East Flaming Gorge Way. It was reported one vehicle hit a second vehicle which was parked and unoccupied. Officers issued the driver, Wesley Nash, of Green River, a citation for alleged inattentive driving and completed a report of the incident.

At 4:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Greasewood Street. Officers met with individuals who were involved in a verbal dispute, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 6:45 p.m., officers along with an underage buyer conducted alcohol compliance checks on local establishments that sell alcohol. All businesses checked were found to be in compliance. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 8:31 p.m., officers responded to the sound of loud booms on Wyoming Drive. Officers met with several individuals and determined the sounds were made by fireworks. Officers made contact with the suspected individual, gathered information, issued a verbal warning, and completed a report of the incident.

June 29

At 12:06 a.m., officers responded to a report of an agency assist with EMS personnel for an individual needing medical assistance at East Flaming Gorge Way and North 4th East Street. The individual was transported by ambulance and officers completed a report of the incident.

At 8:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a runaway juvenile that was last seen on Friday, June 24. The juvenile was located at a friend’s residence and was returned to their parents or guardians. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 10:20 a.m., officers responded to a report of property damage at Waggener Street and Reynolds Street. It was reported a vehicle ran over a rock that caused the rock to be thrown toward another vehicle that was parked in a driveway causing damage. Officers met with the owner of the damaged vehicle and the driver of the the first vehicle, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 12:57 p.m., officers responded to a report of a scam on West Railroad Avenue. Officers met with an individual who advised they had been contacted by an individual claiming to be from Amazon, stating there had been a large purchase on their account. Then the call was transferred to another individual asking for a gift card to be purchased. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. No monetary losses were reported.

At 3:54 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious person causing a disturbance at the Post Office. Officers made contact with the individual, the individual agreed to leave the area and officers completed a report of the incident.
