Green River Police Department reports for Dec. 26

At 10:18 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two vehicle collision at Trail Drive and Winterview Drive. Officers met with the driver of a snowplow who advised that while plowing the roads he traveled down a hill on Winterview Drive and attempted to slow down to make a turn, but due to the icy road conditions was unable to and slid into a vehicle which was parked in a driveway. Officers observed the damage to the vehicle and completed a report of the incident.

At 7:41 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of Uinta Drive and East 2nd South Street and issued the driver, Nicholas Milliken, 32, of Rock Springs, citations for alleged seat belt: driver violation, compulsory auto insurance violation - first offense, and vehicle superintendent’s speed zone (6+ mph over). 

At 11:55 p.m., officers responded to a report of a subject needing removed from a residence on Uinta Drive. Officers met with the reporting party who advised she would like the other party removed from the residence due to them arguing. Officers were unable to remove the party from the residence as they had established residency there. The reporting party advised they would go stay elsewhere for the night and there would be no further issues. Officers completed a report of the incident.

Dec. 27

At 3:10 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two vehicle collision. A vehicle was driving north on West Virginia Place when her vehicle lost traction due to icy road conditions and slid into another vehicle which was parked alongside the road. Officers observed damage to the vehicles and issued the driver of the first vehicle, Crystal Hoskins, 48, of Green River, citations for alleged failure to provide roof of liability coverage, and speed too fast for conditions. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 3:38 a.m., officers observed a stop sign that appeared to have been hit by a vehicle at the intersection of North 4th West Street and West Flaming Gorge Way. Officers observed the damage to the stop sign as well as debris around the crash site. Officers were able to obtain video footage of the crash. A vehicle was attempting a a right turn onto North 4th West but slid through the intersection due to icy road conditions and struck the stop sign. The vehicle has not been located at this time. Officers completed a report of the incident.

Dec. 28

At 3:10 a.m., officers observed a vehicle that had no tail lights illuminated and attempted to stop the vehicle which then failed to stop, sped up, and eventually crashed on Monroe Avenue near West Teton Boulevard. When officers attempted to contact the occupants of the vehicle, one subject fled on foot, but was later located. The other subject remained on scene. Officers ascertained the vehicle had been stolen from the Sweetwater County School District maintenance yard. Both subjects, juveniles, 16 and 17, of Green River, were arrested and transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and officers completed a report of the incident.

At 10:43 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Officers met with the resident, advised of the noise complaint, issued a verbal warning, and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

Dec. 29

At 6:35 a.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Uinta Drive. It was reported the vehicle was traveling northbound on the river bridge when the vehicle lost control and the front driver side wheel well of the vehicle made impact with the guard rail on the left side of the bridge, then swerved to the right and the front passenger side wheel well made contact with the guard rail, then swerved left and the front driver side bumper made contacted with the guard rail on the left side, then came to a stop. Officers issued the driver Howard Scates, 51, of Green River, a citation for alleged compulsory auto insurance violation - first offense and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:21 a.m., officers responded to a report of a request for a subject removal at the Super 8 Motel. Officers met with an employee who reported a subject was supposed to be checked out of a room, but was still there. Officers met with the individual and suspected the subject to be intoxicated and called for EMS to assist. The individual was escorted from the property by a family member and officers completed a report of the incident.

At 1:40 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision at U.S. Bank. It was reported the vehicle hit the curb and two signs. Officers issued the driver Jerico Trump, 27, of Rawlins, a citation for alleged inattentive driving with a crash and completed a report of the incident. 

At 2:33 p.m., officers responded to a report of stalking made at the GRPD office. Officers met with the individuals involved, and a prior assault along with threats and harassment were reported. Officers completed a report of the incident.

Dec. 30

At 2:08 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at Smith’s Food and Drug. It was reported a vehicle was backing out of a parking space and the rear driver’s side bumper struck the front driver’s side of another vehicle. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 4:18 p.m., Animal control officers responded to a report of an animal bite at Lincoln Circle. It was reported the owner of the dog tried to break up a dog fight and was bitten. The dog was found to have an expired rabies vaccination and was booked into the animal shelter for a 10-day rabies quarantine hold. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 7:57 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Officers met with individuals involved in a verbal argument. The parties separated and officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 9:18 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with individuals involved in a verbal argument, advised of the noise complaint, and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

Dec. 31

At 12:07 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Officers met with individuals involved in a verbal dispute. A tobacco device was turned over to the officers and a citation for alleged unlawful possession or use of tobacco products by a minor was issued to a juvenile, 15, of Green River. Officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 3:36 p.m., officers responded to a report of stalking on Cumorah Way. Officers met with an individual who reported that their ex is stalking them and requested a trespass warning be issued. Officers made contact with the individual, issued the trespass warning, and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of found drugs on North Riverbend Drive. Officers met with an individual who turned over drug paraphernalia they had found in the street. Officers collected the paraphernalia and completed a report of the incident.

Jan. 1

At 11:08 a.m., officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on South 7th West Street. Officers met with an individual who advised they let a friend take their vehicle but the vehicle had not been returned. Officers attempted to locate the vehicle and contact the individual. Officers were later notified the vehicle had been recovered and the individual no longer wanted to press charges. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 1:38 p.m., while investigating another incident, officers located a found cell phone at Schultz Street and Jefferson Street. Officers attempted to contact the owner, booked the cell phone in as found property, and completed a report of the incident.

At 5:34 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats or harassment. Officers met with the owner of an establishment who advised a former employee had been threatening and harassing them and wanted them trespassed from their properties. Officers made contact with the individual, issued the trespass warning, and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 5:53 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision. It was reported a vehicle was traveling north on Wilkes Drive when the vehicle lost control, started sliding on the slick roadway, and spun around backwards, then struck the mailboxes on the east side of the roadway. Officers issued the driver, Jonathan Winkel, 46, of Green River, a citation for alleged speed too fast for conditions, and completed a report of the incident.

At 6:36 p.m., officers responded to a report of a traffic complaint on East Flaming Gorge Way. Officers met with an individual who reported a driver that was driving recklessly, tailgating, and then had approached their vehicle once they had pulled off of the roadway. Officers made contact with the driver, who reported they had been following the vehicle due to the reporting vehicle almost hitting their vehicle, and stated they did stop when the other vehicle stopped in an attempt to speak to the driver. Officers attempted to recontact the reporting party and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:43 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats or harassment. Officers met with an individual who reported they had been receiving threatening text messages from a known individual. Officers made contact with the individual and ascertained the individual had an active warrant out of Colorado, and was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Officers issued Gina Subic, 41, of Rock Springs, a citation for alleged unlawful possession of controlled substance - plant form < 3 oz and placed Subic under arrest per the active warrant. Officers transported Subic to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

Jan. 2

At 3:05 p.m., officers responded to a report of found drugs on West Teton Boulevard. Officers met with an individual who turned over drug paraphernalia they had found outside on the ground. Officers collected the paraphernalia and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:11 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was traveling south on Apache Avenue approaching Trail Drive and as the vehicle initiated the left-hand turn and started gaining speed the vehicle started fishtailing down the roadway, striking and jumping the curb on the south side of the roadway, then striking a fence, and coming to rest in the backyard of the residence. Officers issued the driver, Johnny Bernal, 18, of Green River, a citation for alleged reckless driving and completed a report of the incident. 

At 8:32 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at McDonald’s. It was reported one vehicle was stopped facing west in the drive through lane along the north side of the building and a second vehicle was stopped on the east side of the building facing north. The first vehicle received their order and attempted to reverse enough to pull out of the lane when the rear of the vehicle struck the front driver’s side of the second vehicle. Officers issued the driver of the first vehicle, Cody McNeil, 23, of Alabama, citations for alleged inattentive driving with a crash, and compulsory auto insurance violation. Officers completed a report of the incident.

Jan. 3

At 4:39 a.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with an individual who reported a verbal dispute. Officers attempted to locate the other involved individual, and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 7:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with individuals involved in an altercation. The parties were separated and officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 4:46 p.m., officers responded to a report of a REDDI (Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately), and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on Monroe Avenue. Officers met with the sole occupant of the vehicle and subsequently issued the driver Brenda Deain, 61, of Green River, a citation for alleged DWUI .08 or greater and placed the driver under arrest. Officers transported Deain to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 10:31 p.m.. officers responded to a report of threats or harassment. Officers met with an individual who reported a verbal altercation with another known individual. Officers made contact with the individual, took statements, and completed a report of the incident.
