Green River Police Department reports for Nov. 22
At 7:11 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at Soul Studio. Officers met with an individual who reported their vehicle missing. The vehicle was later located and returned. It was reported an individual mistakenly took the wrong vehicle home. Officers completed a report of the incident.
Nov. 23
At 8:58 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two vehicle collision on East Flaming Gorge Way. It was reported that one vehicle was backing out of a parking spot facing west when the rear of the vehicle struck the rear of a second vehicle, which was parked across the roadway in a parking space facing east. Officers issued the driver of the first vehicle, Milles Barden, 35, of Jamestown, a citation for alleged inattentive driving with a crash. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 9:18 a.m., officers responded to a report of burnt items located in a bathroom stall at Monroe Elementary School. No injuries were reported and officers completed a report of the incident.
At 2:59 p.m., officers responded to a report of an emergency school safety drill at Monroe Elementary School. The drill was completed successfully.
At 3:49 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Uinta Drive and Clark Street and issued the driver, Mary Fischer, 58, of Green River, a citation for alleged obedience to traffic-control device violation.
At 8:37 p.m., officers responded to a report of two suspicious individuals on Wilkes Drive. Officers attempted to locate the individuals who had been loitering around the residence and completed a report of the incident.
Nov. 24
At 1:31 p.m., officers responded to a report of an unwanted person on the property of the Super 8 motel. Officers met with the reporting party as well as the suspect. Officers issued a trespass warning to the individual and completed a report of the incident.
At 6:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of fraud on Maryland Drive. Officers met with the reporting party who advised they sent money to a company and then were unable to contact them again. Officers attempted to make contact with the company but were unable to do so. Officers advised the reporting party of how to protect themselves from future fraudulent activity and completed a report of the incident.
At 6:42 p.m., officers responded to a report of a verbal disturbance at Family Dollar. Officers met with both parties and gathered their statements. Parties separated without further incident. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 7:21 p.m., officers responded to a report of suspicious circumstances on Trail Drive. Officers met with the reporting party who advised they believed an ex may have been driving past their residence. Officers advised the reporting party about obtaining a protection order and completed a report of the incident.
At 7:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Uinta Drive. The reporting party advised that they had let someone borrow their vehicle and it had not been returned. The reporting party advised the suspect had taken the vehicle out of state and was repeatedly delaying the return date. Officers completed a report of the incident. This case is still under investigation.
Nov. 25
At 12:08 a.m., officers responded to a report of a verbal disturbance on Cumorah Way. Officers met with both parties and gathered their statements. The parties agreed to stay apart from each other in the residence for the remainder of the evening and that there would be no further issues. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 4:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on West Railroad Avenue. Officers observed that the vehicle had struck two concrete pillars rendering the vehicle inoperable. Officers met with the driver and the vehicle was towed from the scene of the collision. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 4:36 a.m., officers responded to a report of property damage at the Super 8 motel. The reporting party advised that the previous evening during a disturbance a window was broken but it was not noticed until the next morning. Officers took photos of the damage and completed a report of the incident.
At 9:35 a.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run on North 2nd West Street. Officers met with the reporting party who advised sometime during the night a vehicle had struck the fence on the property, ran over the garbage can, and caused damage to yard decorations as well. Officers observed the damage and determined this incident to be related to another accident that had occurred nearby in the early morning hours. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 11:54 a.m., officers responded to a report of trespassing on North 3rd West Street. Officers met with reporting party as well as the suspect who had reportedly been at the property uninvited for the second day in a row. Officers issued the individual a trespass warning for the property and completed a report of the incident.
At 12:07 p.m., officers responded to a report of damage to a vehicle at Fawn Circle. Officers met with the reporting party who advised that someone had vandalized a door on the vehicle. Officers observed the damage and completed a report of the incident.
At 10:35 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Uinta Drive and issued the driver, Ivan Escalante, 21, of Green River, citations for alleged stop sign violation and failure to provide proof of liability insurance.
Nov. 26
At 12:01 a.m., officers responded to a report of civil issues on Cumorah Way. The reporting party advised he wanted to document that his ex girlfriend was acting erratically and that he was trying to avoid confrontation with her until he was able to move out. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 9:53 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of Uinta and Riverview and issued the driver, Susan Parry, 50, of Green River, a citation for alleged failure to provide proof of liability insurance.
At 11:14 p.m., officers responded to a report of barking dogs on South Wagonwheel Drive. Upon arrival officers heard the dogs barking and were able to make contact with the owner who advised the dogs would be brought inside to stop the barking. Officers completed a report of the incident.
Nov. 27
At 3:22 p.m., officers responded to a report of fraud on Shoshone Avenue. Officers met with the reporting party who advised they had been the victim of an online scam and suffered a monetary loss. Officers attempted to contact the suspect but were unsuccessful. Officers completed a report of the incident.
Nov. 28
At 12:16 a.m., officers responded to a report of a barking dog on South 5th West Street. Upon arrival officers heard the dog barking and attempted to make contact with an owner. Officers were unable to make contact with an owner but left a notice on the door advising them of the complaint. Officers completed a report of the incident.
Between 5:20 and 5:28 a.m., officers on patrol observed several vehicles in the area of Upland Way, Colorado Drive and Mississippi Street that had been egged. Officers made contact with the vehicle owners, most of whom advised they would wash the car and did not wish to pursue charges. One vehicle owner advised they did not find any damage to the vehicle. One attempt to contact a vehicle owner was unsuccessful. Officers completed reports of the incidents.
At 3:26 p.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run at the Green River Recreation Center. Officers met with the reporting party who witnessed the incident and was able to identify a possible driver. Officers met with the possible driver who admitted to hitting the vehicle in the parking lot. The driver, a juvenile, 17, of Green River, was issued a citation for alleged inattentive driving with crash.
At 8:44 p.m., officers responded to a report of barking dogs on River View Drive. Upon arrival officers could hear the dogs barking. Officers met with the reporting party, gathered their statement, and attempted to make contact with the owner of the dogs but were unsuccessful. Officers left a door hanger advising of the complaint and completed a report of the incident.
Nov. 29
At 12:45 a.m., while responding to an unrelated call, officers observed a street sign in the roadway that appeared to have been hit by a vehicle. Officers investigated the scene and observed tire marks in the dirt near the road way as well as tire marks on the sidewalk. Officers attempted to locate a suspect but were unsuccessful. Officers completed a report of the incident. This case is still under investigation.
At 9:38 a.m., officers responded to a report of fraud on Logan Street. Officers met with an individual who reported an unauthorized transaction on their credit card. The individual was able to get the transaction canceled and officers completed a report of the incident.
At 7:05 p.m., officers responded to a report of a deer that was hit by a vehicle at Shoshone Avenue and Honor Way.
It was reported the vehicle was traveling west on Shoshone Avenue when a deer jumped in front of the vehicle from the south and the vehicle struck the deer. The deer succumbed to injuries sustained from the collision and officers completed a report of the incident.
At 8:36 p.m., officers responded to a report of subject removal at the Embassy Tavern. Officers met with an employee who requested to have an individual causing a disturbance removed from the bar and a trespass warning issued.
Officers met with the individual, and subsequently placed Edgar Gomez, 40, of Green River, under arrest for alleged disorderly conduct and public intoxication. Officers transported Gomez to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.
