Wild Horses return to Visitors Center

Janet Hartford demonstrates how calm the wild horses at the Green River Visitors Center are by petting the side of a horse's face. Two wild horses through the Bureau of Land Management's adoption program were placed at the visitors center pen Tuesday.

Visitors to Green River have a chance to see a couple of the regions famed wild horses at the Green River Visitors Center.

Janet Hartford, a volunteer taking care of the two mares at the center, said the horses are part of the Bureau of Land Management's Wild Horse and Burro Adoption Program and can be adopted. This is the first time in several years horses are available for viewing at the visitors center.

"I thought it was a shame horses weren't at the center," she said.
