Roberta Ann Elmer

Roberta Ann Elmer peacefully moved on from her beautiful life Monday, February 1, 2021. She was in her home that she loved so much, surrounded by the people who she adored more than anything in the world. Mrs. Elmer was a life-long resident of Wyoming.

Roberta was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming on November 26, 1940; the daughter of Mike Tomich and Margaret Jolly. She spent part of her childhood in Anchorage, Alaska and Sun Valley, Idaho.

Mrs. Elmer attended schools in Rock Springs, Wyoming and was a 1959 graduate of Rock Springs High School.

Roberta married James L. Elmer on February 4, 1971 in Casper, Wyoming; Jim preceded her in death on July 28, 2014 in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Roberta and Jim spent many years in Kerrville, Texas and then resided permanently back in Rock Springs. There, they took on the project of renovating their home together-of which she was very proud. Recently, she said that every little detail in the house showed her how much Jim loved and cared for her.

Roberta was an excellent cook. She had a few specialties that were well-known and appreciated by people who loved her. She had a true passion for sweets-especially chocolate. People who hosted her as a houseguest knew to "stock up" before she arrived-not because she demanded it-but because it was incredibly easy to make her happy and worth it to see her smile. Above all else, Roberta cherished friendship and family.

She had four daughters and never seemed to tire of telling anyone who would listen of how proud they made her. She had eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The adoration between them was mutual and profound. Spending time with her family was the thing she valued the most in her life. There was never such a thing as a stranger to Roberta. She was the best listener, offering a safe place without judgement. She valued her long-standing friendships, as well as her relationships with her sisters, sisters in law, and many nieces and nephews. Roberta was admired for her incredible strength, fierce loyalty, boundless energy, and limitless compassion. To say she'll be missed barely scratches the surface of the loss that is felt by many. As she often said and wrote, she was blessed.

Survivors include four daughters, Lori A. Hall and Bruce Mandros of Rock Springs, Wyoming; Lynnet McDonald of Leander, Texas; Leslie Morton and Daryl of Lakeway, Texas; Jamie Sudol and Matt Jones of Mechanicsville, Virginia; two sisters, Tamara Liska and Ed of Rock Springs, Wyoming; Siama Jimenez and Paul of Loveland, Colorado; one sister-in-law, Nola Bluemel and Rodney of Lyman, Wyoming; eight grandchildren, Dale Myska and Emily; Merrit Vosburg and Luke; Macall Morton; Walker Morton; Emma Sudol; Kate Sudol; Camille Sudol; Jarret McDonald; five great-grandchildren, Oliver Myska; Charleston Myska; Elisha Vosburg; Kennedy Vosburg; Ryder Vosburg; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, Mike Tomich and Linda; Margaret Jolly; and husband, Jim Elmer.

Following Cremation, there will be no services.

The family respectfully requests donations be made in her memory to Hospice of Sweetwater County, 333 Broadway, Suite 220, Rock Springs, Wyoming 82901
