Wolves cross country host 1st meet

The Green River High School cross country team started its season with what could be one of the most difficult runs they will face this season.

The team hosted its annual invite competition Friday, attracting runners from Lyman and Manila to compete at a course running through Pioneer Trails Picnic Grounds north of Green River, off of La Barge Road.

According to head coach Craig Leavitt, the course featured more than a mile of sand to run though. As a result of the sand and course difficulty, Leavitt said the times were slower throughout both races.
