GRHS grad signs with WWCC

Recent Green River High School graduate Michaelee Wisniewski will continue her soccer career playing for the Lady Mustangs at Western Wyoming Community College this fall.

The team announced Wisniewski’s signing on its blog.

According to coach Jeff Atkinson, Wisniewski signed her letter of intent last week, making a commitment to play shortly before graduation. He said the she plays a center defender and her tough, aggressive play coupled with her speed and athleticism made her a person Atkinson was interested in signing.

“She works hard and is coachable,” he said. “She plays hard whistle to whistle.”

Atkinson said she’s able to kick the ball with both feet, which is something some players struggle to do.

Outside of athletics, Atkinson believes Wisniewski will be a great student at WWCC. In high school, she was a member of student council and National Honor Society.

“That shows the type of leader she is,” he said.

During her time as a Lady Wolf, Wisniewski was named to the All Region 4A West second team as a junior and was named to the First Team 4A West All Region team and was included on the Second Team 4A All State Team. She was also one of the team captains for the Lady Wolves.

Outside of soccer, she also played volleyball for the Lady Wolves.
