John "Jack" Richard Skorcz, 80, passed away May 10, 2019, at the Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake City. He was a lifelong resident of Rock Springs and former resident of Eden Valley, Skorcz died following a sudden illness.
He was born in Rock Springs Sept. 26, 1938, the son of John Jacob Skorcz and Joy Frances McNalley Skorcz.
Skorcz attended schools in Rock Springs and was a Rock Springs High School graduate with the class of 1956.
He married Lilla Karlene Stout in Rock Springs May 25, 1958.
Skorcz was the owner and operator of Skorcz Construction for many years and retired in 1998.
His interests included spending time with family, hunting, fishing and at their cabin up north.
Survivors include his wife Lilla Karlene Skorcz of Rock Springs; four sons, Bob Skorcz and wife Karey of Rock Springs, Rick Skorcz and wife Dawn of Eden Valley, David Skorcz and wife Katie of Springfield, Neb., and Dan Skorcz and wife Michelle of Rock Springs; one daughter, Tammy Hoskinson of Rock Springs; three brothers, Russ Skorcz of Lander, Don Skorcz of Farson and Fred Skorcz of Cheyenne; one sister, Joan Kamatis of Punta Gorda, Fla .; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday at the Farson-Eden Community Center in Farson. Interment will be in the Eden Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at the Farson-Eden Community Center on Tuesday, one hour prior to services.
