Isabel Malinda Carter

Isabel Malinda Carter, 90, of Green River passed away Aug. 17, 2018, at the Mission at Castle Rock in Green River after a lengthy illness.

She was born July 14, 1928, in Green River, the daughter of Edward Divis Morison and Maria Corina Segura Morison. She attended schools in Green River, both Washington Elementary and Lincoln High School.

Malinda married Chester James Carter Sept. 22, 1951, in Green River. He preceded her in death Nov. 1, 2011.  

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

She worked as a cook, baker and pantry worker for Murphy's, Little America and the Mustang Café for several years.

Malinda was involved with the Special Olympics, Scouts, TOPS and her ward Relief Society.

She enjoyed Scouting and earned her Silver Beaver Award.

She loved being a fan of her family sports, quilting, doing crafts, playing card games with her family and visiting with everyone.

Survivors include her children, Laurance and Mona Carter of Anchorage, Barbara Carter, Leanna and Clarence Bunderman of Green River, Mark and the late Joan Carter of Green River, Jim and Jan Carter of Rock Springs, Donna Carter Morison, Eddie and Kathy Carter of Lyman, Kevin and Jonna Carter of Green River and Martha Carter of Rock Springs; daughter-in-law Joan Carter; sister Edna Musbach of Mesquite, Nev. 24 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Maria Morison, husband Chester Carter, son David Carter, siblings Robert Edward, George Louis, John Thomas Morison, Ida Sanchez and daughter-in-law Joan Carter.

Funeral services took place Tuesday.
